It is not required. If you do stick a letter in the mail without a return address, what can the post office do except send it to the one address they have? When mailing stuff to myself I will often put the same address for both the destination and return address.

However, if your package or letter does not have a return address, it is immediately more suspicious in the eyes of (dun dun dun) homeland security. It is therefore more likely that your letter or package will be opened and inspected. BS, I know, but there it is.

It's not REQUIRED to put a return address on...it really just saves the sender from losing mail should there be a mistake...

if by some chance you put the wrong amount of postage
if by some chance you wrote the wrote address or zip-code

Also sometimes if you mail gets damaged

It's just a smart thing to do... just in case

Yes you should always include a return address on the envelope when you send mail. This should be your home address. Doing so will ensure that if for some reason the mail in undeliverable, it is returned to you and not thrown away.

I suppose if you really don't care what happens to your mail you would choose not to include a return address. When I have to go to the post office and have forgotten a return, they insist I put it on. But, hey, do whatever makes you happy.

delivery isn't a difficulty, yet while some thing is going incorrect and it can not make it to its trip spot, it has to circulate to Mail restoration for secondary dealing with. The letter would be opened to be certain if there's a return handle interior; otherwise, the article is shredded.

It is not required. It is just for convenience. If the letter gets lost, damaged, has insufficient postage or is sent to the wrong address, it can easily be sent back to you.
