Manmade global warming and consequent climate change has been around for about 200 years but it's in recent decades with the continued industrialisation of the planet that changes have accelerated significantly.

Around the world the effects are very evident. There are some people who close their eyes to the evidence and declare that global warming isn't happening because they can't see it. All a person need do is open their eyes and the effects are everywhere. Not just in the weather but the indirect cosequences such as the economy, food prices, increased death and illness rates etc.

Those who know about global warming were sounding alarm bells over 100 years ago. It was in the late 1800's that the links between greenhouse gas emissions, global warming and climate change were established and since then scientists have been warming of the consequences.

The longer we delay taking action the more damage is done ansd the harder and more expensive it becomes to mitigate.

You don't necessarily need to worry about it as the chances of you personally being adversely affected to any great extent are small. From a global perspective the time to start worrying was many years ago.

You should be worrying now because it is the choices we make as a society in this generation that will dictate what kind of world is left for our children and our grandchildren to live in. The choices we make now will shape our world for years to come. Depending on how old you are it is very possible that these same things will greatly affect you in the future....for example, i am just getting out of college so by the time i am ready to retire in 2050 i am NOT going to buy waterfront property....if i did i would be at great risk....

it is definitely an issue worth worrying about NOW. just because the effects are a few decades off our actions now shouldnt be effected by that. watch the movie "An Inconvenient Truth" with an OPEN mind and you will see our need for action.....if you choose to take action (even by simple things like cutting down on driving) then Welcome to the fight and we are glad to have you....if you choose not to act then i sincerely hope the outcome is different then what the scietists say for our childrens sake

It's hard to say whether we can do anything about it or not. Either way, I think it's smart to start "worrying". Learn how to grow your own vegetables, live without electricity, and catch the rainwater. If you live in the US the bubble could burst anytime now.

considering key greenhouse gases (except water-12days) take an average of 50-300 years to clear the atmosphere, you better start worrying now.

Whenever you want.

It's not happening this year, even though all the enviro chicken littles are screaming that the sky is falling.

Climate change has been around since the beginning of time.

Unless you think cavemen could have avoided the Ice Age, there's not much you can do to curb climate change.
