To make a connection to Earth , thus draining any static charges to the ground instead of allowing them to build up and result in sparks .

No anesthetic contains explosive compounds in a high enough concentration to actually detonate. Nitroglycerin may be used as heart medication, but never in an amount large enough to explode.
