NO. the world (if ever this civilisation ceased to exist) would have been other much more at ancestral ever imagined and perhaps it would have been the survival of the fittest but still at primitive stage( with many communities wiped out from this world). Religions had and have( up to date) a great role in shaping this civilisation although the implementors missed certain important points eg at initiation of their disciples on the Q&A exercise- the inquisitve /critical ways -the very axis of all at evolutions.
Why? If answered many centuries back one could say people will never know how to do it but today, now , the world has changed and people need their help more than at anytime why don't they recommend the practice ( at least to the literates)? Why tell their disciples all answers to your problems are there in the bibles and not outside them (some are even advised to learn such by heart and recite-and told -straight you go to Paradise)? Why not let them work their brains the Q&A way to find light by themselves then come to verify the answers in their bibles if need be?All journal keepers know the answers !

Maybe, a lot of the wars in the past was about religion.
Even John Lennon said there will be peace with no religion.
But there are other things that divide us still. Race, Cultures, Ideas......
as soon as we all think like one I'm kinda sure we may have peace.

For something so spiritual and peaceful, it does seem to create an awful lot of hate and violence.
However, I've seen societies where religion has made a difference It really is the person that creates the violence.
People should learn to think for themselves and not turn to a book or someone elses interpretations in regards to forming opinions of anothers lifestyle and attitudes..

well, look around and see how many wars are being fought between people of different religions, some fighting for their beliefs some not. religion influences your upbringing, so although we cant say there would be no fighting with no religion, i think theres a good case for saying there may have been less conflict

Unfortunately, becuase of the way the brain works, religion is inevitable. Having a world without religion would be changing the way the brain has evolved, how it works and how we function as humans.

No. War is about control. Religions have been fighting for control for thousands of years but if religion wasn't around humans would still find things to fight over

NO..When the Christians are raptured up as in 1st. Thess. .(new testament book) then the Holy Spirit will be gone , since He lives in them,,then the world really will be total chaos! Hopefully YOU will be among the missing.
"but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"< & "for whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved,,Romans 5 & Romans 10....the whole Bible points to Christ..40+ men didnt write about the same saviour by coincedince..please believe on Him now,if you havent already.& dont take anybody's word on it,,go to the source,,you'll never be sorry.!!!!!
For the peace of God shall rule in your hearts & minds through Jesus Christ our Lord...Let the Peace of Christ dwell in you richly.

By now, YES!
Look at the march of civilization--religion has been the main reason for delay at every step of the way.
