well if you do a biblical study of where people came from you had 3 people after the flood in the bible and they were reponsible for the different people groups we have today, 1 probably went towards africa 1 towards asian and 1 towards russia, its obvious that up north you dont get much sun so your skin will eventually lighten or turn white, also as it is colder the hair on your body would probably grow more over time to adapt to the colder climate.

That's a funny question! Never really thought about it before. Not even sure that it's true- but if it is, maybe it's because white skin is so darn sensitive to sunlight, and the hair helps protect the skin from damaging uv rays?
Or maybe it's because long ago, white people descended from colder territories (originally), so the hair helped keep them warm?

This is completely unscientific, but hair acts as a water collector for our body. We get wet, the water collects on the hairs and drips off.
So maybe white skinned folks originated from areas on the globe with large amounts of water?
