I am amazed at some of these questions and answers here. At the core of every religion I know of, there is supposed to be tolerance. So where is it? Why all the hateful remarks against those who have different beliefs?

Wll thank you, Vladimir, for being a shining example of the type of person I was referring to when asking this question.

I don't know and don't agree with it. In my church we teach respect, understanding and at least tolerating if you don't agree. I saw a question that was very quickly removed about how homosexuals aren't loved by God and a bunch of other bull. Also there are many religious nuts in the tattoo seciont saying that tattoos and piercings wreck Gods temple and iti s a sin and blah de blah de blah. It's not your body or your life, can't you worry about yourself for a change? Those kinds of things really hurt religion, what ever happened to if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all? It doesn't always work but a wide range of what is posted between questions and answers is vulgar, rude and down right disrespectful. Good question, where is the love?

I do not proclaim to be a person that answers all questions from a perspective of love and insight.

My answers get nastier the more someone singles out a religion and attacks it considering I side with none and all at the same time.

How people word their questions also leaves them open to a tyrade, quite a few people here seem to get sick of the same questions or same unfounded, ignorant belief pushing.

Thing is though when you ask a question out of the ordinary it gets left to drift away into cyber space and you give up.

Some people are just racist, they do not really know what they are supposed to do. People get offended easily, and therefor no matter what religion they are they forget and start quarreling, but if anyone knows better, they should just be calm and nice, that way there is love. The hateful remarks are human nature, we can't stop that. It's too big a problem to solve.

That's exactly why I am so "disillusioned" with religion...it is hypocrisy, at it's core, not tolerance. I believe that true spirituality lies in the unity of mankind, and that this is achieved through love and acceptance, and embracing our individuality. The one thing we all have in common is that we are different. And that should be o.k.! The things that divide us lead us away from spiritual evolvement, not towards it. Love is at the heart of peaceful relationships.

Heh - I just asked something very similar not 15 minutes ago.

Would that there was a full moon to balme it on, but no.

How about we blame it on the heat and high humidity then? Or just some nasty people running about tonight.

I personally don't wish hate on anybody or what they believe I try to enlighten them. I guess other people do not like to see other religions that is not their own values and beliefs. But God says we should not judge others for we will be judged by God when that day comes. Let them have their beliefs but there is only one God and only one King who we will answer to come judgment day.

Well, IMHO, it 's the premise that if you don't believe as I do...you aren't worthy of love, respect, tolerance, etc. See, the people that preach it are only loving towards and tolerant of people that believe as they do as those are the only ones worthy of their own preachng.

excellent observation . many religions really preach hate as well as they preach love and the line between the two is often obscured beyond my belief.one might just say thou shouldn't hurt one another and the world would be a different place .

You'd think people would embrace the positive, loving, tolerant aspects of faith instead of their own concept of arrogance and intolerance, but that is about individual attitudes.

why is it that some of us can see this and others can't? We do need to have more tolerance, acceptance that what someone else believes is their choice and that it is ok
