But she asked what I had against Chistainity. I was answering her question honestly.. but I didn't mean to attack her. Should I have lied?

If she didn't want an answer, she shouldn't have asked. I don't think you should feel bad about it, she asked and you answered honestly.

If you feel that you answered the lady in an attacking way, if you have a chance to speak to her again, maybe you could just mention something like this (if it expresses what you feel) - "By the way, I just wanted to mention that when I said what I said about Christianity the other day (or whenever it was), I meant that in a general way, but didn't mean to sound like I was putting you down, personally, or attacking you. I just wanted to clarify that."

And no, you should not have lied instead; you were just giving your honest opinion, which she had asked for.

(I am a Christian, by the way.)

No don't lie, maybe next time just tell the truth with a bit of tact. People will still get the message loud and clear, they are less likely to be offended by it.

If you see the lady again, just tell her that you didnt mean to sound like you were attacking her, I'm sure she'll understand and move on from it.

She asked the question, so you were not out of line to give an honest answer. Perhaps if she speaks to you again, you might clarify with her some specific incident in your life that has caused you to perceive Christianity as being judgemental about others.

Many people view Christianity as being judgmental because of the church. If you want to have a true understanding of Christianity then you must look at Jesus, look at who he says he is and not at his followers. Christ preached judge not lest ye be judged and Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
Any judging of human beings should be left up to God for he is the one who is without sin. He is the one without any hatred, bitterness, envy or jealousy in his heart. Yes he hates sin but he loves the sinner. Jesus came not to call the righteous but the sinners. Since we have all sinned and fallen short of God's perfect standards for our lives and there is no one good but God alone and he will judge us all in righteousness and truth I will leave the judging in his hands. If Jesus is God then we have to answer to him and not to man.

You have no reason to feel bad unless you were yelling at her or something lol. But she asked your opinion and you answered. It's not like you went up into her face without being asked and said that to her like many christians do to people that aren't religious.

i think that you dont need to lie to anyone, just tell them your point of view nicely and respect their oppinion. some people feel very strongly about religion and any other sensitive subjects (such as abbortion, ect). you can also say (gently) WHY you feel that particular way. but like i said before, you have to be very carefull and aware when talking about such sensitive subjects.
hope this helps :)

Religions are not judgmental and critical. Usually it's the people who preach are and when they are judgmental and critical, they do their religion a disservice.

Sometimes it's not what you say but how you say it.
