I started cutting myself 4 months ago and now i really can't stand food and how it makes me feel. I barely eat and if i do eat i feel guilty and throw up. Do these have anything in common or something? I'm scared i don't want to have problems...

Cutting is often a pre-curser to other things like eating disorders, chemical and alcohol abuse. When i was in high school I also "cut" to get some relief from stress...this was about 20 yrs ago when cutting was not heard of nor ever talked about. I became alcoholc in my 20's, and am now sober for 6 yrs. After I got sober my bulimia took on a life of its own. It has been a long and windy road full of hills and valleys, but the journey of recovery has been a gift. The sooner you get help the sooner you will be truely happy again.

cutting is common for a person with an eating disorder because you are under stress and cutting helps you ontrol that and makes you feel less guilty about throwing up and eating. u would be considered a bulimic anorexic because u make urself throwup if you eat any type of food and you hardly eat... dont let ppl tell you that u are weird and emo cause ur not. i had this problem and i know wat ur going through. if you cant stop this pattern of behavior by yourself then you should seek medical attention. eating disorders are extremely dangerous and killl many women and an increasing number of men each year. i really hope this helped and i hope you can overcome your problem. Good luck! : )

It could be that you replaced an old habit with a new one. More info is needed to know though. Are the two behaviors linked? Meaning, did you cut because of the way you looked? Are you worried about weight? ect.

Yes, they're linked. You need to get help immediately. People who cut do it to feel something, to get serotonin flowing in their brains. Some research indicates that people with anorexia feel better when they don't eat, that not eating helps them regulate brain chemicals. You DESPERATELY need immediate treatment. Please call a doctor who specializes in eating disorders as soon as it's morning. You can be helped, but you have to get help IMMEDIATELY.

You are desperate for attention. It is not something to be ashamed of, we all need attention. Just find some better way to get it. emofree.com
