Or that people who listen to his message will all of sudden stop listening because some noodlehead needs to vent?

There's a lot of good information available to corroborate much of what Gore has been saying all these years. Some of the climate change projections are just very educated guesses, yes. Theories. But anyone who read "Earth in the Balance" once upon a time knows that Gore has been on this message and on the message hard since before it was "popular" to do so.

I honestly don't think that Gore is in the least bit bothered by what people say - not on a personal level at least. He may despair at the attitudes of some people in respect to the environment but I don't think he takes it personally. Any politician (or ex politician) knows that they're going to be on the receiving end of a barrage of abuse no matter what they do, if they weren't up to taking the insults then I guess they'd have avoided politics or speaking publicly on any divisive issue.

you're brilliant....I read an Earth in the Balance a few months ago and I swear I had to keep looking at the date it was published because i could not believe how educated he was on this subject and how intelligently he spoke about it. I was blown away that he has been on this fight for so long.....I have studied the issue of climate change from both a social as well as a scientific sense and i can tell anyone that wants to know that Al Gore has done a brilliant thing with his slideshow and "An Inconvenient Truth." So many people dont want to listen to him, not because of what he is saying, but because of who he is and what he represents. It boggles the mind to think how many people are arrogant on this issue just because Gore is spear-heading it. He is a true ambassador for this cause and is one of the few people who can say he has been fighting it from the BEGINNING....vindication will come to Al Gore and the rest of the people who are considered environmental freaks because we believe in climate change....the truth is quickly coming and I just hope it doesnt arrive in another Katrina-like disaster...

He is a politician though and im sure he takes every insult he hears with a grain of salt.....He was SOOOO close to becoming the president (O how thigns would be different) and look at the mistake we put into office instead.....just like that issue people will soon see that Gore was right and that we should have listened since the 80's...arrogance and ignorance will be over come eventually

I personally think Gore is so committed to his message and getting it out there and getting the Government to recognize what he has been preaching and working on for so long, that he recognizes that he will be insulted as someone who is educated in environmental issues. There are those who disagree, but I saw him recently (and I can honestly say I wasn't a Gore fan at the time) but I was very impressed with his presentation and what he has accomplished.

I think he probably laughs all the way to the bank. There's an old saying "there's no such thing as bad publicity". All the know nothings keeping his name involved in an issue where he is just another citizen with an opinion is priceless for his name recognition.

I personally don't think a man who claims he was up to speed on this issue when he ran for president, but didn't think it worth mentioning is anyone who should be president. More likely, he was afraid of offending big oil and big industry and kept silent. If he's that slimey, the heck with him!

I think it's been clear that no one who fails to take a strong stand on the environment has a prayer of getting elected next time. The issue is probably second only to the war in Iraq in that regard.

After some 20+ years in politics, I think Gore has probably developed a thick skin. You won't survive long in the public eye if you get hurt feelings over someone else's poor opinion of you.

Does he actually have feelings? Regardless, I don't think he's receptive enough to know that most people really don't like him. As for his "educated guesses", I'd bet they're all wrong. Even alarmist scientists backing him say that his predictions are grossly exagerated at best. But the other scientists say that global warming isn't man-made, and that it isn't something likely to continue long enough to be a real issue. But those scientists are completely ignored, and everyone tells them there's no debate, which is a complete lie. There is no "scientific consensus" at all. The skeptical scientists actually get death threats for attempting to report their research results which just points out that the Earth's temperatures have always fluctuated, and we can't do anything about it one way or the other. The vikings were even talking about how glaciers were melting 1,000 years ago in Greenland. The ice is still there, and last I heard, Greenland is actually cooling, but weather happens, and so does summer; I wouldn't fear it. When you look back 20 years, people were panicing over "global cooling" bringing disaster to the world, so it's hard to take these guys seriously. Hell, they can't even decide whether eggs are healthy or bad for us, but they claim to know all about the Earth and its atmosphere? OK... Oh yeah, Gore owns a "carbon offset" company (whatever that is), so there's another reason for his fearmongering: greed. But I think his main priority is trying to stay relevant and famous. He's a joke. Of course, when everyone realizes we're not cooking alive in Waterworld in 20 years, he'll go around talking about how he saved the world from certain doom, and the proof will be that global warming didn't happen. He can't lose. Maybe he's not as dumb as I thought.

we should all try to forgive those we love or like. if there was no forgiveness in the world it would be chaos. Just as we want poeple to forgive us for our mistakes we have to forgive too. Sometimes forgiveness is really very hard, especially when the offender has really hurt you. But we're not telling you to try to forget it. ofcourse the pain and the memory of it will always stay with you but try to understand the ofeenders point of view and just forgive, by tlking to them acting normal around them

Of course his feelings are not hurt. In order for his feelings to be hurt, he would have to care about what you or I think. As a typical member of the liberal elite, Al Gore does not care what you think because he believes he is better than you or me or any common man or woman.
