I don't think I understand your question, are you referring to goodbye as at the end of the day or as when someone passes? Please expand.
In a relationship is hard to let go many times because of habit. The human being is a creature of routine and habit and we don't like change, even if it is for good. In this case, change means leaving behind a few things that we enjoyed. Let's be honest, when a relationship goes bad it doesn't mean that it was all bad, there were some fun moments and things that we did together that after we say goodbye, we know they won't be there anymore. That's the hard part. The best thing is to try to do it as nice as possible, it's never a good thing when things get really bitter.
Good luck! N

Because of the emotional void we feel when we say that word.
Saying goodbye to someone means you aren't going to be around them for a while, whether its a deployment to the Middle East, or a business trip, or maybe just see you tomorrow, you aren't around that person any more for a while and your heart aches because of that.
The best goodbye I have ever recieved was when my wife took me to the airport so I could catch up to my boat when I was in the Navy. I went through the security checkpoint, and I looked back, and there she was, giving me a thumbs up that she was ok. I cried, I missed her so much but the deployment went fast. The coming home part was very spectacular, it was great.

well i guess because you love the person, you're very much concern on what will they feel when you say goodbye. i also felt the same with my ex, we've been together for almost 6yrs and letting go is such a difficult thing to do. i love him so much but there are things i need to consider that's why i said goodbye. aside from saying goodbye, one more hardest thing to do is to move on.

well it depends on what you mean, do you mean when you break up? or do you mean when a date ends or the time you spend toghther ends?
when you break up its hard to say goodbye because it hurts to do so. and you have to move on with your life. and so if you really loved that person of course its gonna be hard to say goodbye to them its natural.
if you mean when a date or time together ends, then its hard to say goodbye cause your gonna miss being with them, and you just cant hardly wait until you can see them again, and you feel like you just want to spend as much time with them as possable, and so sometimes when you say goodbye, its like they keep a piece of you and that peice is missing until your together again, and thats why its so hard to say goodbye to someone that you love sometimes.

Because as humans, and animals, we are drawn to the familiar. We find comfort in it. That is why we get home sick, and why we like to hear the music we listened to growing up, and why we get happy when we smell our favorite food cooking.
You just have to look at it in a different way... when you hear that song or smell that smell, smile & remember the things that made you happy during that time. Know, & remind yourself, there are many more happy times coming to you, it was just one step in your life. You have time to make plenty of happy memories still. You have time to have more smells & more songs to give you smiles!
Saying good-bye will always be hard, but you can find happiness in every part of your life if you try. Look for the next happy step...and smell...and listen.
Good luck dear!

i wish it wasnt.....losing someone you truly care about is so difficult...someone who has been in your life, and suddenly isnt there, its so hard to deal with. love involves pain. pain which i wish wasnt there because then it wouldnt hurt as bad as everyone says. wishing you could take everything back just to find out what went wrong and why the goodbye was needed. this question is something i wonder about everyday of my life....

John Denver kind of summed it when he wrote
"My bags are packed, I'm ready to go
I'm standing her outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
Bu the taxi's waining his blowin his horn
Already I'm so lonesome I could die
So kiss me an smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you ll never let me go
I'm leaving on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe I hate to go."

Because it was good, and it's over.
You pay for everthing sooner or later.
If it hadn't been good, it would cost so much.
Be glad you had it, and accept the cost,
(like the bill for a good meal at a restaurant.)
