To answer a question:
my POV is that I don't think illegal immigration is right but I don't hate most people from Mexico and other places for doing it.

Re Mexicans: I prefer to make it less difficult for them to be able to legaly live and work in the US.

And I prefer to try to fight the situation of corruption and exploitation (that is supported by the US) in Mexico so that more people would be able to have a decent life w/o having to leave their homes and families and be exploited in the US.

The government needs to control mega-corps instead of letting them slap us and our govt. around.
Industry brings the illegals over and they bribe/coerce the govt. to let it keep going on.
I like Mexicans but there are just way to many illegal aliens who don't have any respect for the USA.

Fine the companies bringing in the illegal aliens.
Deport the illegals and welcome those that are legally working/living here, especially the ones that bother to learn some English.

Senator Blanche Lincoln actually has some very balanced ideas on this issue. She has looked at it intelligently. Perhaps her ideas are better then mass deportation. Either way open borders is not cool for so many reasons.

How come war protesters get shot and the illegal aliens who aren't even citizens march on Washington like it is OK for non-citizens to run the country?

And yes I am very tired of all the stupid rhetoric. Neocon plants actually get paid to sit around and slander progressive ideas/people on here.

Both sides are very emotional because we have a government which have their collective heads shoved completely up their third point of contact. My problem is that the government has allowed this issue to fester to the point where people feel compelled to take extreme positions. On the other hand, how dare a group of people come into our country illegally, breaking our laws and then rally at public protests demanding we change our laws to justify their lawlessness. On that point, I will not retreat. Throw them out and let them use our legally established process. It worked for my wife and her family, it will work for them (and then can wait 5 1/2 years just like my wife's family did).

Edit: Your additionally details are indicative of why this issue is so emotional. Where in the hell do you get off saying things should be made easier for Mexicans? There is nothing special about Mexicans except that they happen to reside in a country that is contiguous to the US. Why not for Chinese, Koreans, Russians, etc... That is why the only fair thing to do is to send every illegal back to where they came from and enforce the laws of this country. Screw a bunch of illegals, regardless of their country of origin.

I respect your POV. yeah some people are pretty heartless on this shiit. and as for the others, they make it sound SO easy. "Oh, just try to get in here LEGALY, instead of sucking of our taxes and making us pay 50 cnets more a month!!" or another favorite of mine "If it was me, I would rebel and make my government fix itself s we can have better lives and stop going to america and mooching of those poor americans!"

It happens whenever politics is discussed. Everybody thinks they`re a genius. I`ve never read more BS than what I`ve read here in the politics forum.

Mmm... the oasis of reason...

I love the human mind. Such a thing is rare these days, and especially in this forum.

I give you my vote and a gold star.

I've posted this question myself numerous times.

Which ones, the crazy anti-immigrant racists or the extreme Hispanic-sympathizing open-border people?

No, many of them do not.

I generally ignore them -- though sometimes, some individuals surprise me and have quite insightful questions.
