Okay I have a friend name Brian, and he wants to become a fire fighter. He's 23, and when he was young around the age of 16 he did ecstacy but stayed clean and eat very healthy since.

He have a clean record and everything. Is he qualify to become a fire fighter?

Please only people who are fire fighters and know how the qualifcation procedure is like only. Thank you =)

Simply put you need to be physically fit, mentally ready, and willing to push limits you never knew existed. You may want to see what your local paid department's CPAT requirements are as well as civil service exam.

As far as experimented with drugs when he was young, I wouldn't be too concerned as long as he has good moral character and hasn't done any since.

However, from experience, be ready to run, work out, and hit the books. You'll be put in the most stressful and heated situations you'd imagine were possible.

Good luck!

is he trying to get on as a paid guy or a vol?
vol's in delaware only need to pass a background check and attend fire school.
it's not like his drug use will come up in a drug test so he shouldn't even mention it.
if he is getting on as a paid guy i'm sure it's more stringent but i don't see how that should effect him... again sush about it
it also depends on the qualifications for whatever fire company he's trying to get on with. have him go to the station and speak to the members and chief about it. they would have the specifics since we can't speak for procedures of unk locations and places...

Physically fit and mentally alert are the qualities of a good firefighter to rescue people and prevent stop fires.

No one can answer your question except the local agency. Depending on what department he is trying for, he may be required to have college, emt certifications, previous experience, etc. Tell him to go ask at the local firehouse, they will get him started on his path
