I dyed my hair tonight myself with a box of hair dye, but I don't like the way it came out (there's pretty much no difference between it and the color i had before)... I'd like to dye it again tonight, but the directions say not to dye it again for 14 days. Is it okay if i dye it again tonight? Why does it say you should wait 2 weeks before you dye it again?

It say so because your scalp is likely to be slightly damaged by the chemicals. Your hair is also damaged by the chemicals. Let it recover, then dye it again. The most gentle part of your hair is the part closest to the scalp. It absorbs the chemical a lot more than the rest of the hair. If you dye it again your hair might come out different color at the root, or it might breal off at the root. 2 weeks is enough time for the hair to grow out.

Every dye is damaging your hair. Even if it's sais it's full of vitamins... Normally you should wait 2 weeks to let your hair regenerate, but if you are so willing, you can do it tonite. Your hair won't fall out, don't worry. This time make sure that you pick a color wich will make difference. It's also depends on what % of disolvants you are using. Usually something comes with the dyestuff together, but in order to make your hair lighter, you might want to use a higher % of disolvants, maybe 12%.

The directions are there for a reason--to protect your hair from damage, so wait. Putting chemicals on chemicals is much too hard on the hair. As long as it's close to your natural color, it's not horrible and you won't be embarrassed to be seen in public, so just wait. And when you do recolor it, don't go way dark. That will only make you look harsh. In the meantime, condition your hair, so it's in good shape when you try again. Good luck.

Your hair has to recover from the process. The color that you're trying to color it may come out botched due to the color not being settled on your strands yet. What could happen? Your hair may turn orange or green. Or it can get really dry and brittle. Between now and then do a weekly deep conditioning treatment. Good luck.

??????

Have you ever dyed your hair before????

You cannot dye your hair again in the same night or your hair will be fried to death and it will break off in extremely large pieces.

Not to mention that it will be extremely frizzy, dried out and it will be breaking consistently.

Please just deep condition it for a week.

I would recommend doing it about a week after you deep condition atleast 3 times.

And here is a secret.....you don't even have to buy a deep conditioner. Just take some regular hair conditioner and put it in your hair after you get out of the shower and let it sit until it hardens and then rinse.

It will moisturize your hair and it prepares it for another round.

Good Luck!!!

There's a phone number on the box. I would think that maybe all your hair will fall out (I'm not kidding!) For sure, it will damage your hair. Btw, if you don't want any red in your hair, make sure the color has the word "ash" in it. Make that phone call tomorrow. Maybe she'll say if you're going lighter, you don't have to wait that long. Good luck, but be careful!! :)

It depends on what kind of hair dye you use. I typically use a semi-permanent dye. And have colored it a second time in the same night with no problems.

If you hair came out the same color it could be because you did something wrong or you picked a color to close to your natural color. I say go ahead and die it again as long as you have healthy hair to begin with. As long as your not lightening your hair its not going to hurt it. Going darker usually just conditions your hair. Its bleach that makes it fall out, not color.

NONONO! Do not dye it again until at least a week!!

This will destroy your hair!

The chemicals in hairdye are very harsh, so if you dont give your hair a break it will damage it and can even fall out.
