Like, how does it compare to old-fashioned (not Pizza Hut) school cafeteria food?

Well, it depends what hospital you go to. I've been to places where the food was okay. In some other places, the hospital should've fired their cooks. But compared to school cafeteria food, the cafeteria will almost always win. Hospitals make food for patients that are sick. That means probably low salt, low fat, low flavor. School cafeterias on the other hand are made for kids. In short, regular food. So, if you're going to the hospital or if you have a friend that's going to the hospital, don't worry. Some hospitals have kid friendly menu options, like hamburgers, chicken nuggets and hot dogs. You get to pick from a menu so you can pick what you want. And if you don't like anything, you can always get your parents to whip up something from home, if it's okay with the doctor. So, you have nothing to worry about. You'll be fine.

I'd say it's about the same, if not, better. I work in a hospital and the cafeteria food is great. I also used to work as a cook in a nursing home and I would try to doctor up the food so it actually was edible. I never like school cafeteria food for some reason.

Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara is great! They have a deli, a salad bar, frozen yogurt, hamburgers, chicken, roast, etc. It has to be good when you see the doctors eating there. The food is more like what you would get in a restaurant, rather than a hospital!

It depends on what diet the patient is on. If they're not restricted, they have pretty good food. Same thing for non-patients in the cafeteria. Now if the patient is on dietary restriction, then the food is bland and tasteless.

I work in a hospital where our patients choose from a menu just like a restaurant and most say it's excellent. You have to be on a regular diet though, salt free, fat free and others can be fairly bland.

I think it's better then what you get in school. The biggest problem is that it's not always hot. Hot food cooled off is not that great, but it depends on the food too.

Not here in Singapore. You get to choose your food from a menu.

It depends if you are on a restricted diet or not, and also the hospital you go to.

It bland because of the special diets the patients are on.
example: a no salt diet

I like it. As long as I'm not on a restricted diet.
