It's only the mindless and brainwashed voters who swallow the propaganda, hook, line and sinker who are "pro" this absurd revisiting of another Vietnam..

What do you think..?

Historically, and particularly lately, no other military forces like to work with the US military, as by comparison they are amongst the worst trained in the world, and are managed by egotistical good ol boys..
Deny it if you like, as the insularity, ignorance and denial must be a warm fuzzy feeling for you..

Your question deserves no answer; but since others have answered it I will also.

I served in the Military (USAF) from 1971 to 1976. I meet a lot of men and women who knew that at anytime they might hear the Bombers on Alert taking off for targets unknown. Once they lifted off the ground, they were not coming back because there would be nothing to come back to except ashes. Yet each one would have gladly given their all with no regrate or remorse. Though none spoke of it, we all loved this country and what it stands for.

It is sad to see so many who feel the same way that you do. Perhaps we were wrong to back then to serve our Country so willingly just to see people like you seemingly hating it and all we stand for. Perhaps it is not the mindless and brainwashed voters who are wrong. Maybe it is you who are mindless and brainwashed to believe what people who don't know a thing about the military and can provide no proof for what they are saying.

I could say a lot more, but I am too civilized to do so.

Even though I think this question is in the wrong section, I'm going to answer you anyway.

1. ALL wars and ALL countries' military have had instances of friendly fire. It happens.
2. Most of the soldiers I know are agnostic or atheist...
3. This is isolated to the US military? Please.
4. Most of the soldiers I know are from middle-class families, not poor ones. The super poor ignorant ones don't make good soldiers. They don't even follow orders better.
5. MOST US soldiers are not "reversing their indoctrinated rhetoric" and their opinions are more valid than, say, the average American. Most of the soldiers I've spoken to want to finish what we started in Iraq and go home.

By the way, I'm not for or against the war, and I'm a military wife.

I'm not sure how the military has right wing Christianity....i'm neither christian nor in the military.

I feel like that falls more back on the govt...people sign up for various reasons.......and the government is what sends them into conflict.

Friendly fire will always happen....america gets into the most wars....thats why the number of friendly fire is soo much higher....if there is a joint coalition..america always has the most number of troops compared to the rest..again....more americans will die due to friendly fire.

If there are 200 americans and 2 die.....and 100 brits..and 1 dies due to friendly fire......the numbers say more americans die..but realy its the same amount....1%

Recruiting from the lower socioeconomic areas.........i'm not gonna entirely agree.....my dad makes millions and i inherit that in 2 years..and i'd love a miltary job in the R&D.....but in general...rich kids never go to war. Simple fact.

Joining the military is a "secure job" ...why not join it????

I disagree with the iraq war simply because saddam was a very smart man that was power hungry....he knows if he attacked america or an ally of america.....the bombs fall on him....he was no threat at all...he just wanted to be an evil dictator of his own country.....he was bad and somethign needed to be done....but it was better off with him....he was the lesser of two evils.........but yeah..the government said we are attacking iraq....the military had to follow orders...its not their fault if the situation that is going on happened....they had no say.

I fail to see this history. Friendly fire is going to happen no matter what army you are in. I can see right-wing Christianity though being prevalent. If this is a revisit of Vietnam then why did the Vietnam War have around 200,000 casualties on the U.S. side while the Iraq War has had about 3,000 U.S. casualties which is the lowest of any war the U.S. has ever been in? There hasn't been any cannon-fodder in this war either. I am getting sick of this war and Bush but hey, at least we killed a terrible dictator who killed more people than this war has.

Sounds like you might have swallowed some anti-American propaganda......

All war is cruel and all armies do cruel things. That's why they call it war not peace and love.

1. FALSE All armies have this.
2. FALSE it is not the official religion. Unlike hamas.
3. WHAT?
4. THATS FALSE! That is leftist propaganda if I ever heard any. I personally know highly educated military people.
5. Some what true. But this is more the exception then the norm.

Saying the US military is poorly trained is the dumbest thing I read tonight.

I generally agree, though a lot of the snafu is just how it is when things get confusing and young guys get the adrenal glands racing. I was once involved in a friendly fire incident with a lot of GIs trying to kill one another, and we were all sincere. Didn't care much who the folk were on the receiving end, though they didn't know we were GIs, either. Just wanted to hit the muzzle flashes.

Strange stuff, no better, no worse in the US military than any other.

1. you are an embarassment to your country.
2. WHAT does this have to do with RELIGION & SPIRITUALITY? Better to post this "question" in Politics... or even "Military."
