and some of you thought they'd say "no"....
I knew they'd agree with what they thought their god wanted, no matter how heinous.

No. I believe in God....but not a God who would send his family to burn for eternity.

What one believes and what one does not believe is irrelevant! The Lord will judge everyone according to His standards, not ours! His ways are not our ways nor are His thoughts our thoughts! You better believe His judgment is far more fair and just than any man on this earth! The Bible says that all must appear before the throne to give an account. Your personal beliefs will not exempt you or me on that day! Judgment is not contingent on ones personal beliefs! Let's put is this way, if you believe you will not die if you jump off of a skyscraper, your belief will not save you from death if you do jump!
The Bible says that all who call on the Lord will be saved! Salvation is not earned! We are saved by grace! One cannot work his or her way into heaven! What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus! You asked so I told what I believe. It is not my position to condemn anyone! I will leave it to God who will judge all.....including me! He is the ONLY one who is qualified to judge!

That's up to each individual to decide. I DO know that I personally believe that belief and obedience are very little to ask in exchange for eternal life. "Torment and torture" is relative. I'd feel tormented if I were deprived of an eternal afterlife.

Most excellent question, thanks for asking this :-)

I find it very sad that Christians would condemn me to eternal hell yet there is not one bone in my Atheist body that would wish eternal torture on anyone.
And it shocks me that anyone would believe in, let alone give praise to, a God that threatens such misery on a human being.
People forget their humanity it seems when they read the Bible.
Isn't that ironic?

Yes because of what the non belief is actually doing. If you believe in anything other than salvation through Christ then you are making yourself God and telling the true God to stay away from you because you do not need him. God, with a heavy heart, grants your wish and removes you from his presence because you made a choice to be separate from God and he respects your decision.

I'm not sure what my "feelings" have to do with eternity...My human logic and reasoning say it seems kind of harsh, BUT, give me one good reason why God should let you in to His eternal paradise if you deny Him now?

Luke 12:9 But he who denies Me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
1John 2:22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He who denies the Father and the Son is antichrist.

I find it hard to believe that a father could subject his children to eternal damnation for not following him or using the gifts he receives the way he wants. even if they helped everyone they've ever met.

This sounds more like the threat to follow the church, which I have no faith in.

where Money and man meet god, this can't be right, can it?

No. To this day, I still wonder why God decided that Hell [Gehenna, lake of fire] would the eternal place for sinful, unbelieving humans. I mean ,yes, it's the best place for Satan and his demons to roast, but why not make a separate not-so hot and hurtful place for humans. I mean I really don't know.

The eternal torture will be not being with God.

I do when I consider that gave His only Son to die for us. God's justice demands the flip-side of the coin, which is eternal separation and torment from the Holy Father and His Son.
