For instance, there was a yellow flag CLEARLY waving in the footage where Robby Gordon just got spun out. This clearly indicates that a full course yellow was communicated to all corner workers. HAve they ever reversed their decision after a race and just said "We Were Wrong".

IS there anything newer then this reversal I just found? This also clearly outlines the appeals procedure (pretty hoake though)http://www.scenedaily.com/stories/2005/04/18/scene_story2.html

dixie i'm not argueing with what your saying but the way you say it's interesting how they lifted the hms penalty and not the rcr penalty
those infractions where as different as night and day there's a big difference between a jack bolt coming loose and rigging your gas tank to look like its full so you can run a fast quailifying lap
i believe the appeals process is resonalbly fair but i believe nascar thinks of itself as a dictatorship who should have the last say on everything
and i believe this artical should help quiet all the rcr fans who say hms are the biggest cheaters in nascar

I dont recall them ever reversing a decision after a race was finished, but there have been several times were an in-race penalty was reversed after the crew chief argued the call. I think all of them were pit road violations where after reviewing the situation the team was to be within the rules and were allowed to either get back on the lead lap or regain their position held before the penalty was assessed.

NASCAR did reverse its initial ruling on a Daytona 500 days after the race and declared Petty the winner. That is Lee Petty, who may have been Richard's equal.

Also on Sunday, with Kurt Busch leading by 10+ second and still pulling away further.A caution flag comes out,for a ribbon or tape on the track. What was that about? Was a caution needed for this?Or was NASCAR trying to keep it close?

I have often wondered the exact same thing! What are they "GOD", or something? Seems like each and every sport should have some kind of limitations, and someone/people to answer to. But NO I have never heard of anyone that wins with Nascar. It's like well the Voice of Nascar God has spoken and that is it: The beginning and the end...

Not recently, if ever. Mark Martin got screwed out of this year's Daytona 500 with a questionable caution flag also. I hate it for him and Robby Gordon too.
Consistency in rules rules!

As long as I can remember NASCAR is NEVER wrong. What happened on Saturday was just an illusion. The yellow flag wasn't out.

Nascar never changes the outcome of a race. That's why Robby did what he did, he knew they would never change it no matter how blatant the error was.

The good thing is they are embarrassed and should make some changes.

Not that I know of.
I checked out the link you posted. Very interesting.
In there it said they reversed one decision. It was for HMS.
The appeal for RCR..well, NASCAR's decision stood.
Two different sets of judges for these two appeals.
The article really opens your eyes to NASCAR and their way of doing things. thanks for posting the link.

NASCAR admit that they were wrong????? Holy sh*t, I just saw a pig fly past my window, which distracted me from the breaking news report that Hell has, indeed, frozen over. So basically, no, they haven't.
