I think he might have looked at his situation and decided that he can either allow it to make him or break him.

Moreover the other choice seemed far less welcoming than the one he chose. If he had risked the Chance and really cursed God the way his wife suggested, then he could have found himself in a far worse situation.

Furthermore some people have a way of encouraging themselves and changing the negative into positive.

Even in real life situations today, we find that when the pain become unbearable, people tend to look to God or a source of assurance. His friends and wife surely wasn't this option so his other choice was obvious.

Also, the Bible speaks of a peace that passes all understanding, this could have been the peace that kept Job holding on, so that in spite of the turmoil going on around him, he could hold on strong.

Also the many stories that are spoken about in the Bible of bravery, faithfulness and the victory of God overall could have kept him hopeful. And we cannot exempt his experience with the one and true God.

Then God also promises that in Isaiah 26:3 (King James Version) "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."

His TRUST in God allowed him to remain faithful.
We should take apage out of his book for sure.

God bless.

It was Show and Tell time,God trusted Job a Whole lot;
Satan uses same method today: He tells God
Man only Worships You because You bless Him;

Does Satan believe God will let Him off the Hook,
if He can get Majority of Man to follow Him?
God is using The Man(Christ) to defeat Satan,showing all in the Spirit world and Physical World that God is totaly Just;

One way to remain steadfast, is to do it moment by moment, day by day, month by month and year by year. Similar to building a house, brick by brick. We build a strong house of faith by our actions. We all have blunders, but we correct them and continually build that house of faith. Then the Devil won't be able to wreck it. Hebrews 4:14" Seeing, therefore, that we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold onto [our] confessing of [him]. 15 For we have as high priest, not one who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tested in all respects like ourselves, but without sin. 16 Let us, therefore, approach with freeness of speech to the throne of undeserved kindness, that we may obtain mercy and find undeserved kindness for help at the right time."

Job surly went through a process of learning how to trust in God inspite of all the horrible distructive things that were happening to him. Deep in his being he knew that his life was in the hands of God. That when he could not trace where God's hand was taking him, Job knew that he could trust the HEART of God to do what God knew Job needed.
In the end of all the stripping away and dealings Job said regarding God
Job 42:5
" I had heard of You by the hearing of the ear, BUT NOW MY EYE HAS SEEN YOU!"

vs 17
" Then Job died old and full of days"

The hand of the Lord kept our brother Job. During his doubts, during everything that was against him trusting in God. God was not interested in Job being merely a " Good" man.. He wanted Job to be a man reconstituted with " God" as his very substance.

Is this not wonderful!!!
May the Lord richly supply us all during our own " Job " experiences in life

TRUST and FAITH. Job loved and trusted God. He knew that God was a God of love and did not blame God. It was not God who took from Job, but rather satan who killed, robbed and stole from Job his riches, family, animals, etc. What God did was temporarily remove His hand of protection from Job to test Job. Satan challenged God, saying that Job would not remain faithful if God allowed satan to take from Job. Job remained faithful and was blessed more than before when all was said and done. Satan tried to destroy Job's love and faith in God and failed. Now, Job, who lived his earthly life and went thru trials lives forever with God in Heaven!! What Faith!!!

Job had a steadfast hope in his God. He said,
"Naked I came from my mother's womb,
and naked I will depart.
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away;
may the name of the LORD be praised."

He knew he had 'feared' all his possessions would go for a moment and let satan in for doubting God.
Now he had to endure satan's efforts to try his faith again.
