My friend is having a limo party for his bday. We're gonna sightsee from San Francisco to Santa Cruz so, we got a lot of time to drink! He's got the drinks and mixers covered but we need some munchies to keep our stomachs from getting too empty on the trip. Any suggestions?

I'm really happy to hear that you've hired a driver for the birthday tour of San Francisco/Santa Cruz. I LOVE the city at night!
Snacks in the Bay Area are endless! Whatever you're looking for, no matter what ethnic variety, is right here!
You could always have the driver go through a drive-thru window, That would put some heavy foods into your stomachs and it would be pretty darn cool too!
Chips and dips, crackers and cheese, Taco Bell value pack soft/hard tacos (hence the drive-thru)!
You are going to have sooo much fun!!!

My favorite is pico de gallo and good tortilla chips. Also add the dip where you melt the cheese and add a can of Rotel chiles and tomatoes. It all goes together and is a bit filling so you don't drink too much and enjoy the ride. You have to enjoy a bit of spice for the pico de gallo (not salsa). Also the dill dip you put inside a hollowed out round large bread of your choice. After you hollow out the bread you put the top back on. You break up the top and dip and then eat the container and dip. It's pretty and travels better. Google dill dip for a million recipes. . .cold cut and cheese and veggie tray with sandwich bread or crackers of your choice. Don't go too salty--it will make you thirsty. If your drinking champagne, try strawberries.

Cheddar Cheese slices, with Granny Smith Apple slices.
Sour Dough Chips
Turkey and Cheese Sandwiches cut up in 1/4 slices.
you can throw this stuff in plastic bags, put it in a small cooler with a couple of bottles of frozen water to keep your stuff cool. Then fight over the water in the morning.
These are a few things that will coat your belly and wont make your stomach all heavy like potato chips and crap like that does. You want to snack and eat some good stuff at Santa Cruz right? I used to live in Mountain View....I miss those trips to Santa Cruz. Have fun for me. You can get a Bagel and Cream cheese in Carmel for just under $18.00.

Higher protein foods are best as they take longer to digest and can slightly slow the absorption of alcohol into the blood. Cures meats, nuts, etc are a good choice. Higher salt content foods may lessen the diuretic effects of alcohol but they can make you drink faster too.
Everything in moderation.
