Any person who has even a limited understand of evolution understands that humans didn't evolve from monkeys. They are distant relative in the primate order, and NOT direct ancestors. So why do you always claim that we believe this, when we certainly don't?

To Steve:
I believe it is you who does not understand. The Scopes v. State was termed the "Scopes Monkey Trial" by the ignorant press not by the people who taught evolution. The "common ancestor theory" isn't distinct from evolution; all of evolution is about common ancestry people who understood evolution believed humans evolved from a common ancestor from the beginning, it wasn't a reaction to "evolution from monkeys."

Because that's the straw man the creationists feed people. Since they can't find any real holes in the Theory of Evolution, they have to define it in a way that CREATES a hole/problem, and then attack IT. It's intellectual cowardice.

The evolution theory is designed by Satan to keep man blind to the truth. It suggests that the apes still in existence today will eventually evolve into humans. The Lord created man a living soul. animals have no soul. We can trace the genealogy of man back to Adam and we know from the data given to us in Scripture that man is a little over 6000 years old only and not the millions of years as suggested by so-called "scientific facts" much of which are totally baseless. The evolutionists will always use the argument that because dinosaurs once roamed the earth then so did man. No so! The account given in Genesis of creation tells us that "in the beginning...." (Genesis 1:1) and Genesis 1:2 tells us that the earth was without form and void (shapeless mass lifeless) and It strongly indicates that there could have been several billion years between verse 1 and 2 because the word "was" actually reads "became" in the original writings. It further suggests that the great battle fought in heaven between the Lord and Satan was the cause of the earth becoming a dead planet as we read in Isaiah as it also seems that the earth became a casualty of this great battle. All this would be far too hard for the evolutionists to grasp as they always want to believe in what they can see rather than what they can't. The Bible tells us that during creation the Lord made all things "after its kind...." The fruit we have today is exactly the same as it was at creation as the seeds are still the same. man has not changed in appearance either as Adam and Eve were created exactly like us (after our kind) this is to say that early man was not covered in hair and have an ape like appearance. I can understand some Christian parents wanting to home school their children as those who teach the theory of evolution would seek to deny the very existance of the Lord by writing off his creation to "natural events' It's amazing that with all the advancement in technology that man still remains blind to the truth. We are told that in the last days man would be "ever learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth" The theory of evolution is just another tool of Satan and those who believe it are still in total darkness as it is designed to doubt the very existance of the Lord Himself.

Well, first off I can tell you don't anything about the theory, yourself.

Until about 1975 it was all about "from monkeys."

During the 1950's they had charts in classrooms that supposedly showed evolution for a chimp to man.

Most of the 20th century people talked about finding the missing link. The Scopes Monkey Trial was so-called because it was about a teacher, in Tennessee that wanted to teach evolution. ( the theory was that humans came from monkeys )

Only after that part of the theory was shown to be totally absurd, did the evolutionists then come up with the common ancestor theory.

While you are so convinced that evolution is true, why not read some history about the theory. It was evolutionists, them selves, that thought up the monkey part.

You are right. We are supposed to be evolved from Apes, not Monkeys, though personally I think its going to take a few more billion years, if ever, before we actually do so. As for Birds evolving from Dinos, judging from their behavior my Chickens have not been informed they are not still Dinosaurs. HOW GOD EXISTS. Relativity: Time & space curve. Future is the past. You are correct. And, you are also correct that it is something that many people misunderstand and misinterpreted, even some people who believe in evolution. We didn't come from monkey's, as we both came from the same place. But seriously, what would YOU rather go around saying?
"Well, thousands upon millions of years ago, we evolved from monkeys"
or...
"Well, thousands upon millions of years ago, we evolved from Sahelanthropus tchadensis."

I have never said that.
I find it is usually people who DONT believe in evolution who say that, as a pathetic attempt to discredit this scientific theory which opposes their fundamental doctrine.
I just leave it at "humans evolved" full stop.

Quotes by Albert Einstein:
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.

I have repeatedly said that in my opinion the idea of a personal God is a childlike one, but I do not share the crusading spirit of the professional atheist whose fervor is mostly due to a painful act of liberation from the fetters of religious indoctrination received in youth. I prefer an attitude of humility corresponding to the weakness of our intellectual understanding of nature and of our own being.

Science without religion is lame; religion without science is blind.

Sometimes chimps are called monkeys. It is more of a general term for the general populous then for the zoologists.
