The alcohol content in 1 dose of nyquil (15 mL) is negligable. 6oz (10% alc) of nyquil is equivalent about to a 12 oz beer (~5% alc). 15 mL (the dose of Nyquil) is 1/2 oz. This won't do anything. Just don't drink the whole bottle!

I answered on your previous post and like the guy before me it's the acetaminophen you have to worry about:

There are several types of Nyquil that have different medications. Nyquil often has a decongestant (pseudophedrine usually), an antihistamine (doxylamine or chlorpheniramine), a cough supressant (dexmethorphan) and sometimes a pain reliever (acetaminophen aka Tylenol).

The componets of vicodin are acetaminophen and hydrocodone--two pain medications.

The two medications together only have ONE interaction--the Tylenol. To be completely safe wait 4-6 hours after your dose of vicodin because that is the tylenol dosing interval. But dosages of tylenol can be 1000mg four times a day, so it would depend on how much tylenol is in the nyquil--if any at all. The two together will likely make you sleepier than normal, so just be sure you going to bed and not driving around!

You could get around this by just taking individual medications. Take a cough suppresant if you have a cough and an antihistamine if you need (usually they put that in there to help you sleep).

The main problem with this is that Nyquil contains a full dose of acetaminophen, as does two vicodin. You should not take more than 4 grams (4 doses) of acetaminophen a day so Nyquil is not a good choice of cold medicine when you are taking pain relievers containing acetaminophen.
If you only took one vicodin and you are a normal sized adult I don't think a half dose of NyQuil would hurt, but keep track of the acetaminophen.

You should not take the Nyquil for at least 8 hours.. The alcohol in the Nyquil combined with the vicodin can have a synergistic effect with very serious results. The time needed for your system to eliminate the vicodin is tough to predict.

First question WHY do you HAVE to take Nyquil at a specific time? Both meds contain pain relievers, not a Dr but i would not combine the two.
