Unless you have equipment to sterilize the needle you are going to use, you're going to have a lot of bacteria on the needle and you are very much likely to get an infection (by the way, boiling, setting a flame to it or anything else you can do at home won't cut it)

Since you most likely do not have a license to pierce, or any experience in the piercing industry there are several dangers when doing it yourself. You could get a really nasty infection, or Hepatytus, plus if you do it wrong you could severely injur yourself. Plus, you're 14yrs. of age now and you want your naval pierced now, so who's to say you won't get tired of the piercing in a year or even a few months. I'd say if you want to have it done to wait until you are at least old enough to do it with parental permission and make sure you go to a clean place where someone actually KNOWS what they're doing. I knew girls in Jr. high school who pierced their navals themselves, and at least 5 of them contracted infections. I myself got an eyebrow piercing when I was 16yrs. of age...my mom signed the consent forms and waiver forms and I payed for it and we went to a very clean and professional place. But I got tired of the piercing after about 6mos. So there are A LOT of dangers when piercing yourself.

The problem is, you don't have the right equipment and knowledge. What are you planning on doing it with? Is it the right size? Do you have a clamp? Do you have the reccomened jewerly to put in it? do you have a disinfecting solution that will clean your equipment to prevent infection? What if you only puncture one side of the skin, and then puncture the other side crooked? What happens when it gets infected and you have to explain to your parents what you did. It'll scar if you do it wrong, do you really want that on your body?
PLEASE just go out and spend the $25 to have a professional do it. Just be safe. You don't want to deal with an infection because you didn't do something right.
Your friends are right. Just have them take you out so you get get it done right.

Piercing is way more than just sticking a needle through something. There are a lot of factors to consider when piercing, including sterility, sharpness of the needle, healing of the piercing, and location. Leave it up to the professionals, most of them have had courses on sterilizing and piercing. If you use a dirty needle, you'll get an infection. If you pierce the wrong place, you could pierce something you don't want to pierce, like a blood vessel.

Well, several things. For one, in order to do it correctly, you need to have completely septic professional equipment. Moreover, it is necessary to make sure the hole is straight and doesn't go through anything but skin, which is very difficult to do when you're looking at it upside down and you have no one to help you hold the skin back. Third, at the crucial moment when you have to get the ring through, you'll be reeling from the adrenaline rush that will immediately follow the needle piecing your skin, your hands will shake and you won't be able to do it. You may even pass out, which could lead to copious bleeding and infection, as no one will be taking care of sterialization. Please, for the sake of safety, at least get someone else to help you!

There is a very large risk of infection, that's the biggest reason not to do it yourself. Not to mention the fact that you are only 14, if your parents do not have a problem with you getting pierced then they can sign a consent form or take you to have it done safely and professionally.

It's very easy for it to get infected. Also, due to the shape of the area, it's simply more difficult than piercing your own ears, nose, or eyebrow (not that I recommend doing those yourself, either). If your parents are ok with it (you better make sure, because they will find out, especially if you're homeschooled and are spending that much more time around them), find a place near you to get it done, and check the place out before you do it; you want to look for the proper equipment, cleanliness, and responsible, properly trained employees. (If you can, it might not hurt to watch them do a piercing, either, just to see their methods before you commit yourself to it.)

Are you stupid? Or just naive? There's nothing wrong with a belly button pierce, even though I agree with your friends. But to try to do it yourself, only somebody really idiotic would even think about it. Would you kindly give me your parents' e-mails so I can ask them if it's okay for you to do this?
You're not spending enough time studying English. Read over your post and see how many grammar/spelling errors you can find.
Okay. I'm calm now. Pierce your belly button if you want, but make sure the person who does it is a professional. Then you minimize the risk to your health. My daughter has had lots of piercings in and around her ears, and I'm not crazy about it, but she had a pro do it, so I put up with it. If you're going to do it, okay, but use a pro.

Definitely agree with many of the posters before myself, I'd read over their posts again, because really it's just NOT a good idea to get something like that pierced at home. It's not something you want to mess up on.
Also, may want to check out the link below...

At 14, there are so many important things which should be going on in your life Getting a good education, meeting friends, having fun, studying and getting good grades , etc.
What does your parents have to say about this?
Also, there could be a lot of pain and suffering related to this most sensitive area of your body.
