Seriously, though, I don't get how some people throw around the phrase 'false religion' as if they know without a doubt that they are right and everyone else is wrong.
Sounds pretty damn arrogant to me.

Basically, if your religion can be backed up by logical reasoning, then it is factual rather than a simple belief. Among other religions there are things that God can do and there are things Satan can do.
Many religions can get pulled apart using the same logical arguments as I did to Islam in the post "REFUTING THE ISLAMIC CLAIM - Series 1?" I suggest you check it out.
To break it own simply: Read the book "Apologetics and Catholic Doctrine" or look up Catholic Apologetics in a search engine. It provides you with in depth logic.
Only Catholicism (and Christianity) have cold hard, factual logic to back up their belief. No other religion has the same ability. But don't believe me, see for yourself.

Cant speak for Islamics, Buddhists , or Hindus but Christians know they are saved and correct becase they have the witness of the Holy Spirit living inside of them. That is what makes Chrsitians tick... God living in their heart. We know Jesus is Lord as sure as you know that you will die some day. Check it out before you say it isnt true, Come to Christ!
PS. I humbly add..... All other religions except Judaism and Christianity are false.

Actually, I think your question is anything but trite. I do not know that my religion or beliefs are true. What I do know and believe is that my salvation is based on the promises that God made to me and provided through His Son. My salvation is not based on my understanding of all the fine points.

I guess as an un believer you think you are right too. At least what I believe in has something to back it up based on History and knowledge. What do unbelievers have? They have the testamony of some other unbeliever who feels he knows the truth. And the ignorance, arrogance, self-centeredness, anger, and pride perpetuates. One day we will all know the truth.
"One day every knee will bend and confess you are God"--the bible--written by wise men/backed up by historical fact.

Speaking for Christians, it may sound arrogant, BUT, keep in mind that all who call themselves Christians get their information from the same Bible. Is there only one interpretation? Or are there many? The Bible was NOT written to confuse the world, it's supposed to unite!

It's not about religion Ned. It's about "relationship." You can either belief the right the things about JC and have a "relationship" with him, or God will send you to Hell. Why? Because He loves you. Isn't that special?

if a person is familiar with the real one.. and confidently says that he can tell the difference.. and when tested gives evidence that proves he can, does that make that person arrogant?
no. it makes them skilled in ability to discern correctly
