No it's not right to judge anyone or anything if you really don't about it. It's already apparent by some of the responses that they don't know what Mormons believe they have found their sources and information in places that really are false.

If you are a Christian you have no business judging anyone beliefs based on your own bible teachings....period!
I was a member of a Mormon Church for a long time however I still don't criticize their teachings. I'll debate the facts with the elders and I do tell them that the Church's teachings hold no meaning to my life.

I don't think it's proper to judge the religious beliefs of ANYONE. After all is said and done, I don't know and you don't either and no one finds out until they die,

It's not proper to judge anyone's beliefs without really knowing them...regardless of their faith community.

Is it proper to judge any religion without knowing them?

Don't judge them personally, judge them on their ability to rationalize and organize coherent thoughts.
Did you know that Jesus walked the earth here in america? Did you know that native americans were Isrealites who had their skin turned red as punishment for denying jesus? did you know that the garden of eden was in Missouri? Wow, so much more too!!
Yeah, I think a little judgement about their decision making skills in perfectly fine.
Other forms of christianity are nearly as absurd, but it doesn't seem that way because it was ingrained when you were young. Mormons don't see folly in their religion just the same as other people don't see folly in their own.
Never stop questioning authority, it is the only freedom that is truly yours.

There are a lot of religions I don't know much about, but I know enough to understand that they do not teach the truth.

For example, I don't know much about the official creed of the Church of the flying spaghetti monster. I do know, however, that the flying spaghetti monster is not God and any church that worships it as God is in error.

So yes, you can determine that a religion is wrong without knowing many of the details of that group. You just need to know what is true. You don't have to know every false doctrine. If you know what is true, you only need to know enough about a church to see if it matches what you know to be true.

If you know that the Bible teaches that Christ died on the cross and rose from the dead, then you know any religion that says Christ did not die, or that He did not rise, is a wrong religion. For example, the Koran teaches that Jesus did not die. If you know the Bible is true, you don't necessarily need to know any more about the Koran to know it is false and not God;s word! The little bit of knowledge is enough.

As for the LDS church, I happen to know a lot about the Mormon doctrine. I have found a lot of things in the Book of Mormon that conflict with things in the Bible.

Sometimes a deeper study is beneficial, but sometimes a doctrine can be found lacking with just a basic knowledge.

Don't judge the beliefs of others -- only study doctrine and decide if it is what you are looking for

if it's not what you want then leave them alone.

Someone who passes judgement on a particular dogma without examining it's claims, and testing them, operates in ignorance. This is Theology 101, folks! "Test all things, hold on to what is good."

NOWHERE in the Bible are we told to "accept everything you hear at face value", or to "believe every person who claims to speak for God", or to "blindly follow anybody who claims to be a prophet or spiritually gifted. Instead, what do we find? "Brothers, do not believe every spirit, but test every spirit, to see if it comes from God." (NT) The OT Law had three specific tests to apply to anyone who claimed to have a "message from the LORD"; anybody failing those tests was not to be believed or feared.

No, it is NOT proper to judge a dogma without testing it first. AFTER testing it, you will know if it is true or false (one of those will be the judgement passed!).

Testing a dogma is different from testing a person. It is very possible for a person to have bad dogma(doctrine or teaching), and to still be a nice person.
