I was talking to this guy I know who was stationed in Japan and told me this wild story about this club with a revolving stage, and blablabla.
I just thought to myself,"Is this guy for real or what?"

The guy I was talking to is 42,was stationed in Okinawa, and told me about a strip club with a revolving stage. The men were allowed to "perform" with the strippers. He also said something about a "donkey show" in Thailand.

Well put it this way,

The evening of the first day I was at my first duty station.

There was a gang bang in the 2nd floor day room, 23 guys and one local college chic.

Wierd stuff does happen.

But that was the only gangbang that occured during the 2 1/2 years I was there.

So it's not a daily thing.

There was such a club, but it was on Okinawa, not Japan - and your guy friend would have to be around 80 years old to have seen it. It was closed by the police in the late 1940s...it so happens it was right next door to the Teahouse of the August Moon - which has not admitted American servicemen since 1960...

There are things that go on in this country close to military installations that would shock a lot of people. It only gets more fun overseas. The middle east being an exception.

However the true test is knowing the diference between a Fairy Tale and a Sea Tale. Fairy tales all begin "Once upon a time" BS...I mean a Sea Tale starts "Now this ain't no Sh*&"

Let me just be blunt and say "YES" the stories you may have heard are most likely true. After 24 years of service and going, I could make the Harry Potter series look like a short story book. But with that said... That is something I keep to myself... Most people can't fully comprehend what takes place and is considered acceptable in other countries.

Yup. I can't say whether the stories are real or not but the sex trade is big business aimed at military people stationed in other countries, especially where they have fewer laws about prostitution as in many Asian countries. It does depend on where they were stationed- if in a Muslim country like Iraq, if they have a story, they are probably lying!

Chance is right,
Although his percentages just might be wrong. From my years in the Corps (Most spent in or around the south china seas, read Orient.), there are opportunities for such. However, having spent alot of time in Japan, I can tell you that the odds of a revolving stage, etc... In Japan are slim diminishing to none.
His imagination exceeds his experience.

Probaly 50% of the stories are made up, another 40% may have a kernal of truth but are embellished, and 10% are true.

Maybe more than that are true though. In Korea I swore me and two other soldiers must have been the only ones not cheating on our spouses back home. a lot of shady study went on there, though I can't say how crazy.

Well, quite a few guys who were stationed or TDY in the far east come back with those stories. At least some of them are true.

Well, I know that when I was stationed in Germany where Brothels were legal alot of my fellow soldiers went to them and had themselves a great time.
In fact I got a phone call at 3 AM because my buddy crashed his car returning back from one of those places.
He rambled on and on about what he had "endured" that night.
So yea they happen. but they should remain in "vegas"

Unfortunately we're the most inhibited country on the planet, it seems... and sex in other countries is not "taboo" like it is in America.

I've heard lots of stories from guys who served overseas (I am a "military brat" myself, and was married to a guy in the Navy for over 10 years).

So yea, I'm sure the stories were true... because sex is just another commodity over there... but whether it was appropriate for him to be telling you is a whole 'nother story!
