Okay, he's been my pen pal for a while, according to him, he's a former US Marine, 5'10" about 190 lbs short hair with some facial hair, well groomed, extremely clean, good manners, old school philosophy, believe in chivalry, marriage committment, trust, love, hopeless romantic, single, love kids, animals, the outdoors and heavy equipment work. Does he sound too good to be true? Do you think I was played?

we all sounds great when you're reading a letter or an email - ask him about his flaws - ask him what he'd like to improve about himself - sounds like he's putting his best foot forward - do not get played

Sounds good, congratulations. Don't get too involved right off the bat....take it slow....single and loves kids? Wait til he has one or two! I am very happily married 6 years and I can tell you this- A good woman is hard to find and I always hear yall gals saying a good man is hard to find too, and I agree. There are alot of punks out here that I'd shoot if my daughter brought one of them home. My point is this- you might be getting played, you might not....but wouldn't you hate yourself if you passed this up...you seem like a traditional woman with values. You owe it to yourself. You may be happy forever, or he might be a raving psycho (see ''former US marine'') <

Did you say Marine? because those people are trained to be model citizens while fighting for their country. Not sure you're getting a clear picture here. There's lots of women that fall for the military men.

There are so many guys out there .......... being in the military doesn't mean much. I know first hand!!! Men can say all kinds of things in letters. And be the SCUM OF THE EARTH in person.

You need to know him in person!! Take your time to know how he deals with his anger, how he takes care of his finances, does he have any children already, know what his EX is saying about him. Know if he is the type of person that takes care of his children BOTH financially & being a father!!

Definately, DO not let him PRESSURE you into a quick relationship or a quick sexual relationship. If he can't handle waiting, he's NOT WORTH IT!!!

He sounds nice, but you need to check your facts about him independently before committing your emotions to him. And check out how he treats his mother and other women around him. Does he treat them with respect and dignity? If so then he'll treat you the same way over time. Good luck with him, go carefully, but go get him if you want him!

actions speak louder than what words a pen can write..take the time to meet and know the person in real life..with the test of circumstances , his charms or grouchiness will come out in due time..

Well, since you haven't actually met him face-to-face, then I would say that he has probably exaggerated some of his qualities. The best way to find out would be to arrange a meeting with him.

Could be but he sounds quite a bit like me, so give him a shot please so us men can look just a little bit better! If he is, in fact, telling the truth!
