You can talk to the owner, or can call animal control if the other dog is very aggressive.

Tell your vet, he may ask you bring in the dog, to make sure he is okay.
If you know the owner of the dog, did you tell him/her about it, in case your dog needs medication, surgery, etc, the owner can pay for the medical needs of your pet.

most places there is no law requiring a quarantine, but if the dog was off its property I'd sure report it to AC
