I don't think so. Bipolar is a chemical imbalance in the brain. It is best treated with medication. Usually, somebody who has Bipolar will take a mood stabilizer and a Antidepressant. The combination is, because somebody with Bipolar can not take a antidepressant without a mood stabilizer, because they can have a manic episode otherwise.
Some also have to take a antipsychotic.
I have heared, that Omega 3 supposed to help for Depression and Bipolar. Don't know anybody though, who has gone that route.

Just so you know it's Type II, as in Roman numeral for 2. Not eleven (11).
Anyway, I was first only in therapy and it helped a little. Later I was on meds, and things were even more under control. Now I'm on neither and am doing fine. But I really recommend going on meds because it's a lot easier than dealing with a lot of issues in therapy. Some therapy is better, though. Behavior modification therapy is supposed to be the best for bipolar people but I haven't tried it.

I have bipolar II. I keep doing this thing where I get on meds and go to therapy, get off of meds and go to therapy, get back sick, go to therapy get on meds, feel better, get off meds. Its cyclical and people with bipolar are notorious for doing it. I am finally resolved to the fact that I need meds. That being said, everyone is different. There is alot of healthy things that I don't do like eat right, exercise, journal, etc. Maybe that would make a difference. It probably depends upon how committed you are to working hard with your therapist and following treatment guidlines.

I don't think so.
My brother has Bipolar II and he used to get therapy alone. Nothing really helped much until he got on Lithium.
