Some one just gave me a nice bottle of Malbec (red wine) and I have never had Malbec before and I was wondering what foods are good with it?

Malbec has most commonly been known as a blending grape. Is this a true Malbec wine from South America If so this is the only parings I was able to come across.

Malbec is ideal for Argentine cuisine which features juicy grilled meats often cooked tableside on little charcoal grills. Young Malbec cuts though the high fat content and char flavor. It's a wine as distinctly Argentine as their famed gaucho cowboys and it's become the trademark of the Argentine wine industry.

I like it with grilled beef and sauteed peppers/onions. Malbec is a hefty wine, so you'll need food with a bit of substance to match it.

it is fantastic with grilled meat. I love a nice steak with chimichurri (a south american pesto like sauce) and roasted veggies.
