Jesus, in the New Testament, DOES condemn slavery.
(Matthew 22:36-40) “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 The second, like it, is this, ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.”

If you love your neighbour, you do not make them a slave.
The Romans of Jesus' time were not taking any notice of what Jesus preached. They continued to have slaves.

The message of Jesus is to love the Lord and each others. God is the Moral Law, He did not give it to the book..He gave it into our hearts. We all know what is right and what is wrong. : )

Everything recorded in the Bible is not God's will for us.
