Puppies like to do that at a young age, wait till he's older to mate around 2-3 yrs minimum. My dog used to do that he'd hump couch cushions, teddy bears etc, he got over that phase and is fixed and hasn't tried to mate at all. He's just going through a phase get him a toy he likes and let him have fun with that until the phase is over then around 2-3 yrs of age let him breed if he wants to. Ask his vet for additional advice.

I agree, a 7 month pup who doesn't eat is lazy & sad is very likely suffering from a cronic illness. 7 months is an iffy age as to fertility, some are, many are not- with a cronicly ill pup I doubt it. Then there the problem of getting a underage stud with a undignosed health problem past the owner of the female. ( ask me and my reply would be "over my dead body! god knows is it catching to my girl? - heritatary to the pups? ...)

He is way to young to be mating with any dog. He may just be doing a dominence factor with the pillow. Every dog does this - females included. NO dog should eb breed before age of 2. There is SO much that goes in to breeding. Winning titles in some sort of activity/shows proper health tests that can not properlly be done until ATLEAST age 1.5 years. Get your male neutard. dont be a moron.

Dogs don't just hump to mate. They also do it to show dominance. He may have felt better after he asserted that he was dominant over the couch cushion. If he's being lethargic and sad, take him to the vet. This is how dogs tell us they are sick.

what? take your dog to the vet. make sure there isn't anything actually wrong with him besides his owner and then have him neutered.
