It really depends on the detail and time involved, not just the size. I have a great tattoo artist who I pay $120 an hour. I have a large tattoo on my back and so far it's taken 4 hours, so $480. I still have a few hours left to go, but it's very detailed with lots of shading and many colors.

usually about $100.00 per hour of work, some artists charge more others less
