Wait till he ask you "will you go with me?" ha ha No, I think its just a mutual thing. I think its one of those things that shouldn't be brought up right away, but will just happen. When he starts referring to you as his girlfriend, then you will know. Have fun with dating and don't rush to be in a relationship because trust me, that is when everything changes and you start seeing the true colors.

I feel for you. I am in the same situation. I'm close in age to you and I haven't been single for over 10 years, so when I started dating again I didn't know all the games people play. The guy I thought was my boyfriend is still "talking" to other women, so I'm not too sure at which point we are supposed to be exclusive, despite me asking many times. I'm curious to know what other people answer.

I think a lot of it depends on the guy... My boyfriend never asked me, he is just not that type.. he just assumed after a while that we were dating. I was kind of in the same position as you, I didnt really know what we were, when people would ask if we were together, I didnt really know what to tell them.
But I would definetely say that you are probably together. My bf is 23 and he didnt ask, and I think it has a lot to do with age, if your man is pushing 30 then he isnt gonna ask.

I actually think this is a great question. I was 42 yrs old when I hit the dating scene after many years and I wondered the same. If you are dating someone that you really like and want to be exclusive with, you need to talk to the guy about it. Life is good and you can have a blast! Just let yourself go!!

It's different in different situations. If the guy is more traditional, he'll ask you to be his girlfriend. Sometimes you find out "officially" you're a couple when the guy introduces you as such to his friends or whomever, or begins using pet names, or straight up says he's falling for you.
Don't be afraid to be honest with this guy! It's okay to talk about what you want out of the relationship and to receive his opinion!

Most of the time the guy asks the girl, but if he seems like hes not into you, then make a move and go for it!

It's a new millenium since you left the dating world. It is acceptable for gals to ask guys out now.

Depends what you want.
I am a traditionalist and I like the terms and the protocol of formal dating.
If you you do too, then you'll know you've found a potential mate!
And if not, then you'll know if you find a guy who doesn't believe.
It's simple; there's something for everyone!
Ain't life grand!

i consider a certain amount of time to be "dating", otherwise its jujst seeing each other and u can see other poeple while seeing one person, or some people do. i usually ask how they see me, as a boyfriend, or as someone they are just seeing, what they want to see me as etc. this is if its not already established. give it a try.
