Sounds like she was your soul mate. It may take a year or more. I try to redirect my mind when it goes to that place where my departeds dwell as I still get upset over their loss, the latest having suddenly dropped dead at my feet on Valentine's day this year- my special buddy whose life I saved as a teensy feral kitty only 3 years ago. He left a huge hole. It takes time, but it does get better.

get a new pet not a dog or a cat a small pet one that you can keep in your room or kitchen or wherever (well you can still get a new cat or dog its all the same). It'll make you feel better, and if you don't want to go through buying another pet try relaxation exersizes a mini vacation or just chew gum help yourself. One last thing is that you can also take time it'll be a while but eventually you'll get over it for some people it could take 2 years or more. So take a big breath, exhale, do something, think posotive.

You can make a little memorial for her.
Try setting up a stone with her name engraved on it and planting flowers around in the backyard.
If you don't have a place to do that, you can make a memorial in your bedroom. Just find some pictures of her that you like and make a collage. Beside each picture write down a favorite memory of your cat, like how she liked to play fetch (my cat loves fetch too!) or how she purred at the foot of your bed or how much she loved you. At the bottom or on the back of the collage, write a letter saying everything you want to say to this kitty (I know it's silly, but it really helps!), then hang it on the wall.
Here's an e-hug from me, hang in there, okay? I've lost several cats that I really loved and it does get better, I promise.
Oh, and don't listen to any stupid jerks who make dumbass comments - they're all morons and I'll report each one as abuse, costing them 10 points apiece. :-)

I'm sorry for your loss, first of all. I know what it's like to lose a pet (many pets, in fact.)
It's funny how even after all the crap we put up with from some pets how much we still care about them, isn't it? ^^ I've had similar experiences with some of my pets.
Grief doesn't end quickly, but I'm a bit troubled you still cry EVERY day after four months. Perhaps its time to seek a counselor to talk to about this.
Despite what so many people are saying, I recommend NOT getting a cat that looks like her. And don't try to forget her. If you try to replace her with something else, you will only feel anger toward your new pet that is an innocent in all of this. This has happened with so many of my friends who have bought a dog in hoping it will "replace" the old one. I'm not saying you shouldn't get another pet. Just don't think of it as replacing her. Think of it as it being time to move on.
If you ever need to vent, go ahead and email me. ^.^ Take care, honey.

Rainbow Bridge Poem
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge, there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water, and warm Spring weather. Those old and frail animals are young again. Those who have been maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other. But there is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up. The nose twitches, the ears are up, the eyes are staring, and this one suddenly runs from the group.
You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.

Unfortunately, speaking from experience, there is not much you can do. I lost a cat over 6 months ago now and I still have the odd crying moment.

I still cry over cats that have been "gone" for two and three years. It's Love. (You love the cat.) :) I don't cry over cats that have been gone four or five years -- except on those rare occasions when I cry for them as a group. :)
The pain lessens. Be strong.
My sympathy. So sorry.

Try getting a different type of pet. Try getting a turtle, or a hamster [ just make sure the cats aren't in the room!! ]
A different animal means different responsibilities, new friendships, new bondings. It will distract you I promise.
Btw, I'm sorry for your loss.

Oh wow, well I have lost animals that I truly loved, and I have always found that getting another one to care for will help you get over that one. So, its time to find another one, perhaps a kitten that demands more of your time.
