30 lbs in a years time is healthy. It depends on your own body. If you feel 10 -15 lbs will be fine for you and you can be happy with that, then go for it. If you think 30 lbs is going to make you happy then go for it.
Just keep in mind, if you were'nt born with a supermodel bone structure, you wont ever look like that. I know you didnt mention it, but it worries me that your so young and you want to lose so much weight.
i think you should shoot for 10 lbs and then leave it at that. Your still growing and your body is going to go through some weird things. Dont forget, if you make this change and you stop after the year is over, you just may gain all the weight back and then some. If you really want to change, it should be for life.
Eat healthy and exercise. Its simple and it works. Definitely cut out the fast food and soda and juices. Stick with water and juices that have less sugar anything with less sodium is also a good choice. Just keep in mind this is a life change, if your looking for a quick fix, then its not going to work.
Good luck hun. Have fun in Turkey, and remember no one there will know who you are, they have never seen you before and they never will again probably. Do what you want and look the way you want. Who cares what everyone else will think. =)

Yes quite comfortably.
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%.
Chew each morsel at least 32 times. Do not touch articles of food or the cutlery in between. This will activate ur body to generate strong signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks (minimum 20 min duration) regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry. It is however to be noted that one cannot change the shape or size of different parts of the body.

You can do it in less
Helpful Tips for weight loss:
1)A good way to loose weight is to use a calorie counter watch
Keep to a 1,200 food intake
Add 1,200 plus 3,500 (equals one pound of fat) ...and that is the total amount of calories you need to burn each day. Its actually really easy once you start watching the numbers and it doesn't seem like work or exercise. Its just a matter of changing the way you think about loosing weight.
I use this method when i gain some pounds. The first time I did this I went from 168 to 127
2) Most people do not get enough water in their system. Water is your body's principal chemical component, comprising, on average, 60 percent of your weight. Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.
Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don't have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. To determine if you are getting enough water use this simple formula.. Take your weight, for example 150 pounds and divide by 2. Take your answer which is 75 lbs and change it to ounces, in this case 75 ounces. That is how many ounces of water you need a day. Your body performs mostly on water. If you make sure you get enough water everyday your body will perform at top notch and your body will no longer have the cravings of junk food. You will have a better performing body system to help you work out and feel better thru out your day.

A year is more than adequate time to lose 30 pounds. Heck, I'm hoping to lose double that in the same amount of time, lol. Here are some tips which work:
1) If you want to get regular exercise without exerting yourself too much or causing yourself a lot of pain, just take half-hour walks three times a week. As you get used to exercising, you can up not only the number of times you go out, but also how long you walk. It's easy, low-impact exercise which can make a surprising change in your lifestyle. Join a gym, too, if you can, but be careful not to overdo it.
2) Start cutting out greasy, high-fat foods from your diet, including any kind of fast food (especially burgers, fried chicken, and pizza), chips, and rich desserts. Don't skimp out on the protein altogether, though, since it will help you to feel full. But stick to lean meat, and stay away from carbohydrates as much as possible. Learn to make healthy choices as think before you eat.
3) Start including things like delicious fruit (watermelon and pineapple in particular are in season right now), and a salad at least once a day. They will provide you with the nutrients you need on top of helping you to feel full and satisfy your need for munchies.
4) Also, drink things like bottled water, diet soda, fruit juice, and nonfat milk instead of high-calorie sodas or beer.
5) Try joining Weight Watchers. The members are mostly women, but more and more men are joining these days, I've noticed, and young people aren’t that uncommon. The new Flex Plan teaches still teaches portion control but with the added benefit of personalizing your eating plan by gender, height, age, and physical activity as well as weight. Moreover, you'll be in a group setting, which will help you to remember that you're all in it together.
6) Finally, if you can, make a friend who can help you with your weight loss; a man or woman who is also dedicated to shedding extra pounds. You can reinforce one another and share your experiences.
I'm actually a Weight Watchers member myself. I just got back on the program, and I've already lost 13 lbs after only a couple of weeks. I'm tired of not fitting in my favorite clothes, and that's why I decided to really commit myself this time. No more half-assing it for me. ^^

first of all its not the weight that counts its the inches you lose....why is this?its because muscle weighs more then fat, thats why when you look at people they may seem thinner but they could actually be heavier in weight.....
so dont think about how many pounds u want to lose, think about how many inches you want to lose.....
in the morning=eat a healthy breakfast if u have no time just grab a piece of fruit and drink some warm water with a slice of lemon in it(this will help speed your metabolism up for the morning)
eat your fruit and veg...
always keep yourself hydrated so drink 8 glasses of water a day(250ml is a glass)...
exercise daily preferably about one hour a day and slowly increase the time(eg after 2 weeks add an extra 10 minutes on to your exercise time)....always warm up before you do harder exercise as u can damage yourself...
treat yourself to something nice once a week or even twice a week so u dont get deprived of what you like(if u keep refusing to eat something u like then sooner or later your body will want it so bad that u will end up scoffing yourself of the food and spoil your whole diet)
but when u treat yourself make it something small(eg if u want a kit kat,eat the snacksize,if u want ice cream then instead of getting a big bowl of it get one scoop of it etc )
that way your still on your diet and not spoiling it and letting yourself have a treat will make u more determined to keep to your diet as u dont feel deprived of anything, also enjoy your treat....
when you eat,eat slowly so your food breaks down properly and so u dont consume alot of air.....
eat every 3 hrs or so,this is so that your body will always be full and you wont feel so hungry all the time, try snack on fruit or nuts....
dont eat meat that has a lot of fat on it,always eat lean meat....chicken and fish is much more healthier to red meat so try eat that more then red meat.....
eat vegetables with your meals and drink water alot...if you want something other then water(water does get a bit boring)...then drink a "no added sugar drink" or if u want something like coke or something fizzy then opt for the "diet one"...
oh....and for exercise....a gym is good,u can get help at the gym... but even if your at home you can do simple things like run up and dwn the stairs,do crunches, run around your garden etc(these things dont need a gym so dont use any excuses to skip exercise....
swimming is very good for toning up loads of muscles as its an all over body work out......
good luck on your diet x

one thing you have a problem is you have a bigger stomache... try only eating once a day for two days in a row then eat twice a day after that and dont eat very many calories and keep your calorie intake below 1000 calories a day and in a while your stomache will shrink a little and you will still intake enough to keep you healthy but you will lose waight dramatically... possibly eight pounds a week if you work hard at it

Of course you can lose that much, my sister weighed 126 when she was your age. A sport you should try is Volleyball or Swimming because it is EXTREMELY fun and there are different levels so you and a friend can start out together. Also take walks around you're neighborhood and when you can take bike rides to places you need to get to. I hope I helped
