Every time I have to speak in front of people (EVEN JUST ONE PERSON) I get so nervous. And when I have to do a performance with people, or go somewhere for the first time (like a doctor, school, ect.) I get nervous. I have been trying my best to control it, but school is coming up fast and I am afraid I will have my nervous attack like I always do! Plus I am starting highschool for the first time, which makes it worse! PLEASE HELP!

Get a cool new outfit for the first day of school and get your hair redone now so you can get used to it. Get a stylish look but not too colorful or flashy so that you feel conspicuous.

Band together with some friends from your neighborhood, middle school or youth group and plan to meet in front of the school and walk in together. Plan your lunches together-you should be able to get a sneak peak at your schedules by calling the school the week before.

The more things you have planned in advance the less anxious you will be. So call ahead to the school and get all the details about where when and how. Ask if you can take a tour of the school to find your classes before the first day so you won't be so nervous. There shoud be staff in the building the whole week before school starts.

Pray pray pray.

Cut out all caffeine and make sure you get a good nights sleep every night. Next surround yourself with friends or a best friend in school for the first week or two until your comfortable. Take a lot of deep breaths and just be yourself. Every teen is nervous. Accept that and it will be easier for you.

Raylynn... Hear ya...but then you know what God did? Led me to where I HAD to speak to groups! Lord have mercy, all my life I would shake so much when I had to be in front of people giving a report, etc.,. I was SURE everyone SAW it! (Which made it worse)

But you know...when I would tell people this they always told me I looked so calm and sure of myself! (obviously they weren't paying attention!)

God somehow uses our weaknesses and makes them into strengths... I am hoping that you know God...or trying to. Talk to God about this... ask Him or Jesus to stand with you when you have to speak or when you have to go somewhere... Trust God to do as you ask. :)

Suggestions: Do you babysit or have younger siblings? Make this a GAME with the kid's using children's stories...or, use your imagination, pick a subject you really like and can talk about simply because you like it so much that you lose yourself in the subject... stand in front of your pet or a mirror and give a speech... yup, I said your pet lol It's so silly that it works! :)
Have fun with it! Don't let satan rob you of your joy by wasting time worrying about it! You're not the only one that feels this way. Relax and take a step of faith...

May you find Peace! :)

I was very shy when i was younger. What worked for me is making myself a little angry. It sounds really stupid and I do not know if you can do it. It just helped me say or do anything.
