I've seen two questions already tonight that say "A star for this would be really nice." That's like when people fish for compliments! "Don't you like my new haircut.."? Argh! Knock it off!

I agree with you. People should not ask for stars, it is the answer-er's personal opinion if the question is interesting. I guess some people like the points though (although in the long run, who cares?! You don't get any prizes as far as I know) I just like helping people. Same for people who ask for best answer... Anyways thanks for being down to earth!

sooner or later it must be a voilation. yet then human beings might desire to be stupid to easily celeb a question for the incorrect reason. yet while i'm interior the temper for it I easily have stared question like that and asked some too. the wonderful one replaced into something like. Do you get greater stars in case you ask a question at night

I think people put too much effort in trying to get stars or other "props" for their question, which I think is rather cheap, since half the time, they're pitied so much they actually get their stars.

Instead of thinking of a very intriguing question that people admire and are interested in, they beg because they have no good questions to ask themselves..

Pity.

Yep. It's not like you get any extra points for them! lol. Stars aren't for the askers; they're for the readers: people who actually WANT to remember the question and maybe look in on new answers some other time.

What are the stars for anyway? Do you get more points? Otherwise it's just a vain waste of time.

I haven't seen anyone that asked for stars. I give them, but I've never received any.
