They don't want to admit that by driving a gasoline powered car, living in a 2000 square foot house, and watching movies on a 48" TV they are causing their own doom. They'd rather just enjoy their toys while they can.

Some people don't believe in global warming because the best and brightest climate scientists from all over the world don't all believe that global warming exists. There hasn't been anywhere near enough research done to say exactly what, if anything, is happening.

You're not old enough to have lived through it, but in the mid 1970's some of the most famous scientists in the world spent a couple of years telling us about 'global cooling;" that an ice age was about to happen.

Today, just like back then, the best scientists weren't listened to. People listened only to the loudest scientists, who had no idea what was actually going on, but who LOVED to be on TV and in magazines and scientific journals.

If you ask a climate scientist if they're worried, the answer is 'not yet'. Your life is NOT in any danger, and neither is the earth.

Because there is no scientific evidence of humans causing what Al Gore refers to as Global Warming. Climate change (the correct terminology) has always existed. Sometimes it has been warmer than now and other times cooler.

Al Gore's movie is merely an effort to frighten people so that he can generate a need for new political control. Its not based on any scientific facts.

From what I have seen it's not any hotter this summer than it has been for years and years.

Global warming has all the trappings of manipulation of the masses by big energy. They create a crisis so prices can go up. In the 70's we were running out of oil. Gas prices went over a dollar and never came back down. Now it's global warming - conservation, price goes up and the supply lasts longer. Oh yea, in the 70's we were going to have another ice age.

Same game different angle. It's all about the money. I don't believe any of them. Fact is they don't know.

I believe they are just uneducated about global warming. The more people find out about it the more they will understand and start to do something about it. Thank you Al Gore and all the others out there doing good for all of us!

I'm just cynical of anything the media picks up because it sounds like a good story. While many mainstream scientists believe in global warming, alot of the hidden ones don't. Also, Micahel Crichton explains in State of Fear that much of the science of global warming is often misleading. For instance, they say the polar caps are melting, but the area they refer to makes up 2% of Antarctica. The other 98% can get up to 6 or 7 miles thick and is getting thicker. I just don't want us to rush into something and spend billions of dollars before we are sure about it. Remember global cooling in the 70's?

For many, it seems like they made up their mind early on that it couldn't possibly be true and then made sure to only give credibility to websites and other information that agrees with their beliefs. Throw in some red herrings like the non-existent "global cooling" scare in the 70's and there is not a chance in hell they will ever be convinced otherwise.

Many are conservatives who carry their politics to extremes. If liberals, environmentalists, or, worse yet, Al Gore say something it must be wrong no matter how many scientists have proven it with hard data.

They should listen to Newt. Thoughtful and knowledgeable conservatives know this is proven fact.

"Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"
