Mine loves it too. Some really good veggies to feed to tiels love are endive, kale, parsley, sprouting seeds (which you can make yourself by keeping birdseed on a wet paper towel for 3 days), brussels, sprouts, cabbage heart, cucumber, swiss chard, watercress, brocolli, bell peppers, and turnip greens.

Never give your cockatiel alcohol, avocado or chocolate - these can kill your cockatiel. Also avoid asparagus, aubergine or eggplant, cabbage, caffeine (tea and coffee), junk food, milk and cream, raw potato, and rhubarb (including the leaves).
(Source: http://www.letstalkbirds.com/cockatiels.htm)
You might not notice it now, but it might affect your cockatiel in the long run if you keep feeding it red cabbage. Normally, it induces diarrhea. I'm not sure if yours is a special case. How is the bird's health so far (after being fed red cabbage)? Ask an avian vet about it, just to be sure. It might be best, however, if you introduced new variations of fresh food to your bird.
See below (from the Cockatiel Information Page)
A cockatiel diet must be supplemented with fresh fruit and vegetables on a daily basis. An all seed diet often results in an unhealthy or overweight cockatiel.
Try the following:
1. FRUIT:
apple, grape, guava, kiwi fruit, mango, melon, nectarine, orange, peach, pear, pomegranate, plum, strawberry, tangerine, watermelon
2. VEGETABLES:
bok choy, broccoli, carrot (chopped or grated), celery, chard, lettuce (but small amounts of lettuce and not too often as not a lot of goodness), peas, silverbeet, spinach, sweetcorn, watercress, zucchini.
Favorites with cockatiels tend to be apple, egg, pasta, peas, rice, silverbeet, spinach, sweetcorn.
Note that the fruit and vegetables should be:
1. thoroughly washed
2. in small pieces
3. at room temperature
4. unpeeled
5. free of cores, stones, pits or pips
6. raw (some cockatiels prefer certain vegetables cooked like peas and sweetcorn - use your judgment here)
7. fresh (obviously this will be the most nutritious for your cockatiel but you can use frozen or canned)
Be aware that your cockatiel's droppings may be runnier than usual with an intake of fruit and vegetables.
Some cockatiels will not take to fruit and vegetables straight away. Persevere as it can take up to a year before your cockatiel will eat them. Fruit and vegetables are an essential part of your cockatiel's diet so offer them washed and fresh each day - do not give up!

Hello. It depends on the cage size...... can he go out and fly or is the cage a big one already.... Birds usually stop eating when they full. But it is very important to feed them right, like fruits and vegetables. Mine receive daily cooked rice, breadcrumbs integral, shredded carrots, fresh or defrosted corn pieces and more. Important is to have a variety of seeds, not just sunflowerseeds...... More important is a stone of calcium. Anyway a bird should have a partner... if possible get him a female bird. On the other hand they need greens... grass from the garden, leafs or weeds, what normally is cut down from a gardener. My garden is only weeds... All for the birds, but I have 545 birds, 28 diferent breeds and really big aviaries.

It is determined by the fruit or veggie linked to a comparison. In the event you compare a n to a carrot, the carrot is the better of the two nutritional. But once you compare an avocado to the carrot, then this avocado is better. Equally the apple and avocado, are fruits.

foods that you need to stay away from completely for any bird are artichokes, chocolate, caffine includeing soda, rubarb and achohal. those that need to rarely be offered if at all are human snacks like patatoe chips, pretzels or anything that's really not that good for us. red cabbage should be just fine make sure you wash it good tho.
