5000 lbs, it should tow the civic fine.

Its capable of towing up to 5,000lbs, when properly equipped. I.e. external tranny cooler, the correct tow package (Class III/or IV).

I've towed a 24' car hauler loaded with a full size 1983 Ford Bronco on it with no problem.

If your towing it on your own you should be fine. If your planning on renting a tow dolly from UHAUL you might be out of luck. Go to the UHAUL website and use their towing calculator to find out for sure. I own a 94 wit-ha 4.o and they wouldn't let me tow my 2007 Dodge Caliber.
