there has always been some sort of conflict between science and religion. the main reason being that science looks for proof in everything whereas most of the religious ideas are based on faith, and there is no proof.
there are places where science fails like a person the doctors say has no chances of survival, recovers due to payers/spiritual healing. then they term it as a miracle. what science can not explain become a miracle.
even scientists say we use only 10% of our brains. then what about the 90 percent, when and how do we use it? it has to be developed. spiritual healers/ telepathic persons/seers/ people with esps have been provided by nature the ability to utilise their brains in a way science of the present can not describe. some of these persons are engaged as additional personnel on experiment basis to help catch criminals as science wants to know how they solve those cases in which mostly files are closed.
a simple thing like not cooking during an eclipse was passed down from ancestors with various stories attached to it but the reason got clouded till science unearthed it. science has unfolded the mystery surounding many beliefs of the past. a time will come when science will be able to explain many things which are miracles to us today.
for the present, where science ends faith/belief/ spirituality commences.

The two can co-exist really. It's misinterpretations of the two that cause "conflict".
Science is actually good because it doesn't deal with astrology, palmistry, divination, tarot cards, and sorcery that God forbid.
Why he forbid it? Well, long story short, he wanted us ALL to act like humans. Not like Angels or supernaturals that know the "magical realm". I mean, can you imagine, if we had the technology that Atlantis had? Sure, life would be better, but the destruction and war it brings would ba far more worse. That's why he wiped out things like that with the Great Flood.
Ahem! Back to the topic~
Science is just studying natural stuff. Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Biology, Astronomy (different from astrology), Anatomy, Engineerng ARE ALL dealing with the Natural world. And as God created the world, there's really no conflict at all. Human ego just gets in the way, that's why we get into "conflict".

When it comes to many areas like evolution and the universe, the two must conflict because they are explaining the same event in different ways. Religion will never be a match though because science uses reason, while religion uses dogma and authority. Creation science is not science at all, nor is anything in the bible. It basically says, believe this.

There is a deep relation between religion and science if you are really have any interest to know something there is an example that, "The Vedas or Hinduism are religious books and are books of science"
there is none of the science which you have not to see in Vedas only you should have a good and high quality's knowledge of Sanskrit and have much meditation should be required

Conflict between religion and science destroys the world. When science is supported by religion can check the fruits of science from destruction of the world and can benefit the human beings. Science also reverses some blind religious beliefs. Both are essential for sustenance of human life.

Yes!! Religion is based on believing. Science is based on proving. Most things in Religion can't be PROVED but can only be BELIEVED. In science, everything has to have an answer. Soon people are going to start trying to prove that eternity CAN'T last forever. This starts conflicts a lot of the time.

Friend,
Who said there is a conflict?
There is difference of opinion.Science wants proof. It wants the thing whether it is God or Devil to be proved in a logical way by any body any number of times. It wants ti see the proof with eyes ,to record it.Then only it approves.
But religion is based on Faith,Trust, belief. There is a systematic way which takes long time to . practise. It declares that these sensory organs can not see God.so you close eyes sit in meditation .Follow what your Sadguru says and guide. You try hard and hard and then if you are fortunate you will realise the Ultimate.
That is the difference, in my opinion.
So it is not a conflict. It wants, science wants proof ,immediate proof. But God is not that cheap (my personal opinion).

Religion tells us to progress in Science, In Islam it is encouraged to do Science, God gave us a brain to use it for progression for the better, so why should their be a conflict between Religion & Science, like everything in this temporary world this life is a test, so Science is a test for us on how we use our brains in Science, if we can use it for the worse or for the better, better as in progression in Space, Medicine, worse as in trying to work out God does not exist through Science.

Not really. Proved science. They deal with different things. Science looks at things from the outside. We see them from the inside. We're always learning more in both areas anyway. Of course those are generalizations as we are generalizing, but you can compare apples and oranges by analogy, as their both fruit, round, have sugar content etc. One is spirit the other matter. I don't think the 'miracles', went against natural law, we just don't know all the rules yet. Quantum Physics seem to have some of them, forces not know before for instance. God is not the author of confusion and everything He does is orderly. The rules in the mind and for thinking are different sometimes from the physical world.

"All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man's life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom."
-- Albert Einstein
I believe religion and science compliment each other perfectly. It's what man tries to accomplish with the knowledge he receives from them that can make them seem to contradict.
