Caffeine does that and there is plenty of caffeine in coffee and teas. (unless it has been removed....decaffinated).

Coffee itself does not give you energy, it is actually the caffeine that comes from the coffee beans. In turn, the caffeine can give you enough energy to force you to stay awake, but it depends upon the person.

It can, it's not so much the coffee as the caffeine. Eventually you will crash.
Try drinking a big glass of water, it is amazing how energized you'll feel simply by hydrating yourself. Plus it doesn't sound like you're too much of a coffee drinker.

Coffee doesn't give you energy but the caffiene helps stimulate your body to be able to be active. The best choice for caffiene source is tea. Caffiene from coffe is oil based non-water soluable and takes many hours to clear from your system. Caffiene from tea is water soluable and much easier for your body to process and eliminate. There, you can have your stimulant and be healthy too! Some teas actually have more caffiene than coffee...

Good luck!

Yes, it will help keep you up. Too much and you'll get the jitters. More than that makes my heart skip and my doctor told me to stop and I'm on decaf now.
