Hi. I've had lots of moles removed. Most of the time it is just out patient surgery and you don't even have to undress depending on where the mole is. I've had some cut off and some frozen off. My doctor usually does it right in his office. I've had some that did have some stitches but nothing to be worried about. If it is on your back, they may want you to put on a gown top with the opening in the back so you won't get your shirt bloody or messy. They will probably numb the area with a local shot and then remove the mole. That is the way they usually do it unless they freeze it. You most likely will be able to keep your pants on, but I'm sure you will be laying on your stomach for the proceedure so that you don't pass out sitting up in case you would do that. Some people do because they get queezy.

I had one removed on my back and they gave me a gown. They will have you lay on your tummy and leave the gown open in the back!!
