This is for everyone, not just Muslims. Why don't we all live and let live, and only fight in self defense if we are attacked by an individual? What do you think?

"We find in verses 2:190-193 that the Quran values religious liberty even above the right to life: "... attacking a religious group (fitnah) is more severe than a plain attack (qatl)." These are the first verses revealed that tell Muslims to fight to defend themselves.

"Jihad" is an Arabic word that means "struggle." It is either military or nonviolent. The verses prescribe when military jihad is allowed. In all other situations, nonviolent jihad (personal and civic struggle) is the only legitimate way to achieve change.

"Fight in the way of God against those who are fighting you and do not start a fight; God surely dislikes aggressors." Since the verb "fight" is in the plural form, jihad is a collective action based on a political decision by "mutual consultation" (Quran 42:38).

No scholar, mullah or religious leader may "declare jihad." The grammar also excludes non-collective military actions such as assassination, sabotage and guerrilla warfare.

The "way of God" is then defined: "And kill them only in combat clashes, and expel them only from where they expelled you." This outlaws the killing of non-combatants (terrorism), prisoners of war, retreating troops or surrendering soldiers. It also prohibits overreaching into enemy territory in the course of liberating a country.

"And fight them until there are no more attacks against religious groups and all religious authority is God's alone" (Quran 2:193).

With what you are saying and quoting doesn't make any sense that these groups are fighting for self defense, which they are not fighting in self defense, but fighting like terrorists.

You mean to tell me that these radical groups in Israel protecting themselves from the Jewish people or IDF? You have that all backwards. The Israelis are the ones defending themselves from these radicals!

The Quran may speak for you and these radical groups, but these terrorists are not taking it seriously are they? Because instead of 'right to life' they are blowing themselves up and killing innocent people even with firing their kassam rockets at Israelis. Do you call that obeying the Quran? These radicals are attacking religious groups.

Again, they have it all wrong. These terrorists, Jihad, Hamas, etc.....they all start the fights, they are the terrorists who start every fight and they have a long history of violence if you would do a search on that. Their god must be angry at them for starting all fights nu?

So please, stop sticking up for terrorists and realize that these radicals don't care about innocent lives, all they care about is how many they can kill to have these virgins in their heaven.

You want to stop terrorism? Then you start speaking against these terrorist groups and start doing something about it.

I stand for the US and for Israel and there will never be peace until terrorism is dealt with.

People are led by emotions, fear and hate being two negative one. All may be subsumed under fear. Everything else is twisting the truth around until it says what you want. All subsumed under love is what your supposed to do. The don't teach emotions is school except when there is an perceived enemy.

Only in Islamic lands was there a Masjid, synagogue and a church in one hundred yards of each other. In Muslim Cordoba and Bosnia up until the 1990s.

I am 100% in favor of anyone who believes in "Live and Let Live". To me that is just part of The Golden Rule.

If your religion leads you to that then I am very happy. If another religion leads another person to that then I am equally happy. If a person finds out that Truth without aid of religion then that's just fine.

Well I use the bible...the bible mentions that God is Love so if God is Love then how could He permit us to fight to defend ourselves. This meaning war, attacks, killing, etc. In Matthew 19:19 the bible says: Honor [your] father and [your] mother, and, You must love your neighbor as yourself.” This is one of the mandates that Jehovah God left for us and it is our responsibility to follow it. So how are we going to love our neighbor as ourselves if we are killing or attacking them for no reason.
God as our creator he can guide us within the bible. The bible mentions in Jeremiah 10:23: "I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step." So by us being imperfect the only person who can discipline us in righteousness is our Almighty God not ourselves. We tend to make improper decisions by our imperfection but if we follows our God's discipline in our life our life all will go well.
A good text I would like you to keep in mind is Proverbs 4:2 " For good instruction is what I certainly shall give to YOU. My law DO not leave....." and Proverbs 4:5-9 "Acquire wisdom, acquire understanding. Do not forget, and do not turn aside from the sayings of my mouth. Do not leave it, and it will keep you. Love it, and it will safeguard you. Wisdom is the prime thing. Acquire wisdom; and with all that you acquire, acquire understanding. Highly esteem it, and it will exalt you. It will glorify you because you embrace it. To your head it will give a wreath of charm; a crown of beauty it will bestow upon you.”

Because, like all religions, anything that threatens a person's faith leads to fear, which becomes anger.

Only when religions start teaching that evidence is more important than faith will they not lead to violence - but then, they won't exist.

As long as Muslims,Christians--or any other organized religion teaches its followers that they are separate & different to their fellow man--division & conflict will always be with us.
