Do you see anything threatening or sinister in that question? Was Proud Muslimah advocating a Muslim takeover? Or was she simply trying to show a softer side to her religion?

Now look at this question. It is a response to the one above.

Why should I be offended? Why should there be bells ringing in my head?

Am I missing something?

What? Proud was stating that only the best qualified get the government jobs in Muslim countries, regardless of religion - HOW is that a threat? How is that advocating a takeover? A hypothetical question is NOT a takeover threat!

I think, Darth dear, we have yet another example of what Orion was talking about earlier - people either cannot read, or cannot read for comprehension, because they are only seeing what they think the question is about, and not what it is really about.

Annoying to say the least - ignorant at best.

The only think you're missing in the ability to read poorly - be proud you can read well, and understand what you read.

Ok, so I just took a CJ class in which my Turkish professor taught us (very generally) about Shari'a law, while it is strictly religious in nature it's not as bad as some think, while I don't agree with it, it seems to work for those countries that are ruled by their religion. And well, if it was in America the only thing that xians would change about it was the fact that it follows the rules of the Quran instead of the Bible. Shari'a law is quite similar to the radical fundamentalist agenda to make the government onto a xian state except they worship different gods. So to answer your question, yes, you should be offended because this is just a Muslim attempt of what fundie xians are trying to do.

Sinister isn't too bad. It's not that gory but there are a few jump scares (from what I remember, anyway.) There isn't any nudity or drugs but there is some kissing. Otherwise it is perfectly okay for teens to watch.

You're not missing anything, nothing offensive about posting a query based on a hypothetical circumstance.

She worded the question horribly. I think what she meant was if the US population was majority Muslim.

But I think many people either misread the question's intent or over reacted.

I thought she had a good question. Some people are just blinded by ignorance and stereotypes.

Yep, I see your point, but as you probably have seen, people are returning to the ""hippie" era: "peace and love, nothing will happen".........you'll hear the crying when it happens, as usual, too late....
