My sister has the same thing. Tea tree oil is the stuff! Available at all health food stores and at most drug stores. You'll smell a bit "mediciney" but it'll do wonders! Put it on at night and shower in the a.m.

You have pityriasis versicolor. While you are so young, there is still about a 2-3% chance they will fade, or your surrounding skin will somewhat, overlap, the splotches.

Until then, most medicines will work better than the home remedies.

I'm sure your doctor has already reccomended this, but try antifungals. When was the last time you got medication for this? There may be something new. Creams are passed through the FDA everyday.

Hope this help! Email me with other questions.

1] see a doctor to get a prescription for Nizoral [ pill ].
2] buy some skin lotion with tea tree oil, and use at least once a week to prevent recurrence [ health food store ]. Bathe or shower at night, and apply the lotion, so it can work while you are sleeping.
3] use over the counter chlortrimazole for flare-ups.
4] the white spots should all eventually fade. They are caused by a yeast present on everyone's skin.
5] re-vamp your diet.
Eliminate fried, fast, and junk foods - even diet junk food.
No sweets.
No chips, crackers, or pre-made bakery goodies.
Drink 1/2 gallon of water a day.
Take a daily multivitamin with minerals - can make a big difference in your skin.

Could this be tinea versicolor?

If so, one of the best "home remedies" sounds a little crazy, but it makes a big difference (my husband has this condition). Get some Selsun Blue (or any dandruff shampoo containing selenium). Slather it on the affected areas and wait for about 10-15 minutes. Then shower off.

His fades in less than a week when he does it daily.

Sorry, btw, that your sisters are teasing. Sometimes siblings say some very hurtful things. However, later in life, they may be your best friends.

Hang in there,
