Hello, to tell you the truth, God came to that same conclusion! (see Old Testament) He realized that there was no one who seemed to be able to follow All His Laws, without breaking at least one of them. The cycle of 'sin and judgment' left no room for God's original intent for mankind; 'Fellowship with Him'! (Sin separates us from God) So, in order to restore the potential for relationship with God, (The kind of friendship and closeness that Adam& Eve had with Him in the Garden) God created a plan of 'Salvation'. It was 'simple', and required nothing except, ' repentance', and 'faith in Jesus.' At that time, the 'religious leaders' of the day had been oppressing the people with all their 'Add-On-Rules & Regulations'. That is why He was so angry At the 'temple square that day' The people were being forced to 'pay $ for the 'removal of their sins'. Then Jesus came along and caused many of the people to turn away from the old oppresive 'rules' that had been established by the religious leaders. (who, by the way, did'nt follow the rules faithfully themselves).
This caused the "RL" to be jealous of Jesus. So they plotted his 'demise'. Once he was out of the picture, The "Roman Catholic" religion stared back up again. In those early days, The Word of God was not available for the 'common people' to read for themselves. So whatever the 'priests' wanted to tell the people it said, they did. No one ever questioned the 'validity' of their 'supposed message from God's Word'. They also forced people to pay$ for the 'remission of their sins! Eventually, the people got fed up with the oppression of it all and began the 'protestant movement!' They wanted to honor God, yet did not agree with 'catholisism'. So they made their own 'rules' of acceptance. This was the beginning of the 'religious reolutionary cultural epidemic'! That is why there are so many religions today! If a few people did'nt agree with what 'this church taught as the way to (be godly)'. Then they would leave and start a new one. Each new religion became a mixture of the original law and their own personal interpretation of what they wanted it to say,to ease their own consciences. Everyone genuinely believed in their 'own way' as being the 'only way' to 'godliness'. They became legalistic and overbearing in their 'presentation', instead of gracious and merciful. When Jesus shared His original 'Message', it was an 'invitation to be saved from sin, and an opportunity to have a relationship with His Father through Him'. As well as a revelation of a' new kingdom way of living'. This went right over their heads! It was too easy, there had to be a catch, right?,. Besides they didn't like his 'style' anyway, so they missed the simple truth, and have been handing down a 'package' of deception ever since.
God's plan was, and still is, to draw people into a 'love' relationship with Himself. He knows that when you genuinely feel His love for you, you'll want to respond with love in return by following His Word that He writes upon your heart. The one that Jesus stated that summed up the whole law," Love the LORD your God with All your heart, mind soul and strength. And Love your neighbor as yourself." When 'this love' is the motivating factor behind your 'faith' in God, you are not concerned with 'religion, and all it's 'conflicting rules'. All you want to do is love others and lead them directly to Jesus. We are to be 'Human periscopes' to Heaven, reflecting the grace & glory of God. And sharing His 'direct Word,' in the attitude of genuine concern for the soul of the one whom were sharing with, guided only by the Holy Spirit, not our own interpretations. All the time, everyday, & night.
You are right in your observation of religions. However I sincerely urge you to seek after God's own heart. Discover Him for yourself. Let Him lead you to His Word. He will show you 'The Way'. of genuine love and faith. Look to Him and not man. I hope this blessses you. Sincerely, Rose

Okay, a couple of things. One, you can't judge a religion by it's followers. You have to examine the teachings and see if you think they are true, then do your best to concentrate on your own path. Two, out of all the religions in the world, two aren't very many. If neither of those churches feels right for you, you should look into other religions, even outside of Christianity. There is only one God and there are many paths to the same truth.

Any church that does not expect its members to change their life and live the same every day of the week could not be God's church.
Having said that, I firmly believe that there is truth in almost every church, and that there is a church out there that will bring you closer to God than you are right now.You have been to two churches. That isn't even close to all of them. Don't shut them all out because the ones you attended did not bring you to God.
Also, there are people in every church who try to live their religion to the best of their ability every day. Don't judge a church by those who slack off in obeying the commandments.
Pray to ask God for help to lead you to the church that will help you to be the best child of God that you can be. If you pray in faith, your prayer will be answered: in God's time, in God's way. Be patient and persistent.
Expect to be surprised by the answer when it comes!
God bless you in your search.
EDIT: Ignore the Atheists and Agnostics. They believe that there either 1. Is NO God or 2. It is highly unlikely that there is a God.
They are WRONG. He lives and loves every person on earth.

well that does not mean that the religion is false just because the people are. You go to church for worship not to know or get along with some of them outside of church. it is more of a personal thing and maybe it is about finding a church home that makes you feel comfortable. I would do that before giving up my faith.

Do you have something against main stream churches? Try a Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian church. It helps not to look too much at the people but it's true that we do represent our religions. I wish more Christians would realize that. Don't give up. Just read the Bible and keep searching. Going to 2 churches is certainly not enough to draw a conclusion.

Judging what is true and what is not true about God does not involve judging other people. Jesus Christ is the only person who ever lived that was without sin. Dear, excuse me, but you are not perfect either. I would venture to guess that you aren't always pleasant, don't always do or say the right thing. That is why we need a savior, because we all have sin.
The truth is Jesus Christ. He is also the way and the life. Please try to find a good bible teaching church and go to learn of Him, and keep your eyes on Him and what God would have you learn about how to live on this earth. Amazing how much less judgmental of others we will be when we learn to see ourselves as we really are.

You must be talking about the young people. I know JWs aren't hypocrites, and Catholics have nothing to be hypocritical about since their religion is pretty lenient as far as lifestyles go. Besides that, you can't judge a book by its cover. You are going to be looking long and hard to find the religion with all perfect parishioners. Why do you think Jesus died for us, because we are sinners. Maybe you should check into something like the Amish or perhaps being a Monk. Sorry if I sound sarcastic.

I had a similar experience - i was raised catholic and then tried being pentecostal, thinking that they might be less hypocritical. Turns out every religion when you really look at it is pretty silly, which is why i think people have a hard time actually following the rules.
Now I'm an atheist. You just have to do your own investigating and find out what you think is true for yourself.

For atheists, the assertion "i've got confidence in God" is not any much less ridiculous than "I worship Santa". they are making that assertion because of the fact they sense like that. you sense indignant because of the fact to have an emotional connection to that concept. We atheists easily see religious faith as stupid. that would not could be as offensive for you in case you are able to admit that your concept if a private element and that there is not any externally validating clarification for that concept. once you do away with the emotional choose for exterior validation, it won't offend the way it does now. think of if somebody over 10, in all seriousness, instructed you the way he became beneficial that Santa became genuine and he enjoyed us all. you will question his sanity. i'm sorry no remember if it is offensive, despite if it feels merely like that to atheists while theists communicate a pair of god or gods as though they have been genuine. That reported, maximum folk do no longer %. on theists in each and daily existence until they proselytize because of the fact we're not douches.

first off you've gone to two church's that are not of God, yes catholic have good intentions but many are hippocrits, and they don't preach from the bible, i know because i used to be a catholic, many only go on certain days, others just go for social statice and some go because they want to find a god who loves them, the JW's well they don't beleive in a living God, or that Jesus was really God's son, i would recommend finding a bible preaching church, somewhere where you will feel God's precence because there is a God and he does fill his church with his precence, i go to an apostolic church, and i love it, not a day goes by where it is dead dull and boring, Good luck and God Bless

If you're determined to be a Christian, you might try a Coptic Church if there's one near you. Though I wasn't a Christian, I attended a lot of churches through the years and the Coptics seemed to be among the best of them [Christians] I ever encountered.
