What should I do? I'm overweight now because I pile up my plates of big portions of food and eat. I'm trying to lose weight and cut back on the portions. But I'm not use to eating smaller portions of food and I want to get use to it. When I eat smaller portions of foods, my body wants to crave seconds of a big portions not knowing that if I eat a big portions I'll gain weight. Please help me, I want to get used to eating small portions of food to lose weight and not hunger no more to want to overeat.

You can lose weight if you eat smaller portions, but eat 5 meals a day. Your body needs the calories, but your body will be more efficient if you spread them out into 5 meals. Also, try to cut out the sugar in your diet, this is one of the major components of weight-gain, and keeping it on. If you cut out sugar in your diet significantly, (look at the nutrition facts on everything you eat) you will have results if about a month or so. Good luck!!! You will do better with your weightloss efforts if you try to learn as much about your body and diet as much as you can.

I use the Atkins Diet and it works for me. I never go hungry, count calories, or worry about portion sizes. But, you'll have to learn to control your carbohydrates in order for it to work properly. Ask your doctor first.
