You need a high school diploma or equivalent to continue

Yes, most colleges and universities actually do not require a high school diploma. Just take some evening classes rather than first trying to get into regular day school. Then transfer into a program. No problem. That's what I did. Nobody ever asked about my high school. Didn't matter. When you go to evening classes, and do well, that's all they care about. Oh, and contrary to what other posters have said, you do NOT need a GED. I didn't need it for the community college either. They just took my transcript from the evening classes I took at the Univ. of MN.

Oh, I need to add that if you are going into an ROTC program, then yes, you do need a GED because it is a regulation with the military.

The best idea is to get good grades in high school, a good score on your ACT or SAT and go to college. If you drop out, you will have to go to a community college and make up a bunch of high school courses. You can get into college, but it's a load of work.

Yes you can!!!! If you are enrolled in College you have til you graduate to complete a GED. The college will have resources for you to use in order to help with preparing for the GED as well as your regular College Classes!!!! Don't put off school....Go talk to an Academic Counselor at your local Community College to be informed!!! I start in the Fall 2007 and I have my GED and my friend does NOT have her GED and is taking the same classes!!!! It is possible and not too late!!!!

No, you need a high school diploma to go to college.
You could go to a community college but they still make you take classes to get your high school diploma.

Or you can go to night school and get your GED. Stay in school, if you really want to go to college.

You would have to get a GED. You take a test that you have to pass, instead of getting your HS diploma, but it doesn't really mean the same.

You can go to community college but you have to finish your diploma there. You can also get your GED and go to college.

my best advice would be to get your ged and then go to community college for 2 years then transfer to a better college and get your bachelors there.

Hi! Please stay in school.

Yes, you can still go to college; however, you'll need to get a GED diploma or complete alternative high school. You'll still need to take the ACT/SAT exams. Please stay in school. Wishing you a lovely future!
