Throughout history, there have been hundreds (if not thousands) of gods. How many of them really exist?

Only the one who actually demonstrated Himself in the course of human history - the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
He is fulfilling His ancient prophecies given concerning His covenant people, the Jews in preserving their integrity and identity as a distinct people group and in restoring them to the Land of Promise. He is doing this right under the nose of the entire world and has blinded their eyes to seeing it. Nevertheless those who love Him and seek Him can see it.

Most of the popular gods today probably never existed.

However, I think there is a possibility that ancient pagan, (and possibly Hindu), gods may have been based on extraterrestrials that colonized Earth and ruled humans for a period of time. So, some of those gods could have maybe been quasi-real.

I know the "ancient astronaut" theories are usually regarded as lunatic fringe. However, the more I read ancient myths from different parts of the world, the more I wonder if maybe it isn't quite as crazy as it sounds at first.

He caused me to be born again and gave me peace that has never left after very many years of trusting in Him.

I have decided that all things in the universe are a circle. The bible says that god is love etc.... What I really believe is that there is lots of love and beauty in the world, but no concious god. Nothing ever ceases to exist, but there is no heaven either. There is no end to the universe, it is too big to measure, but things can never be too small to measure either (What is inside an atom, or an electron? Something smaller!) There is no beginning or end to anything, everything is a big infinite circle.

Religion its self is one of the biggest lie in human history. It has been responsible for more deaths throughout human history than all other unnatural causes combined. For a thousand years the Church was a tyrannical dictatorship that used religion to control the uneducated masses. Free your minds and come into the 21st century....

I speak only for myself..when I was going to kill myself..where was Zeus, Horus or any of the gods while I was crying and asking for just someone to help me..

The only God that answered me, was the one from the Bible..so I am forever grateful, that I was saved from suicide..

And I had a chance, to see my children and grandchildren grow.. :)

As for the other gods..Maybe someone, can tell me where they were..they sure were not looking out for me.. :(

I think all most religions are just different interpretations of the same God/omnipotent force. What religion we choose i heavily influenced by our background and environment. So, while I am Catholic, I acknowledge it's mainly due to growing up with the Catholic faith and feeling more comfortable with it. I'm in no position to say my religion is right or someone else's is wrong. I think they are general moral and ethic beliefs that help guiide us through life and that we all have our own ideas about how to get to heaven/afterlife/nirvana/etc.
